That and Discord is pretty much the only being capable of breaking into Celestia's vault I think.

Aw man, I think instead of asking about the future, Applejack should have asked how Discord did that.

I'll bet the Elements are in the box, but concealed by illusions. He actually couldn't get into the door, but he was able to cast a subtle spell on the contents when the box was taken out.

Okay, this would be hilarious... Right after the six leave to search the hedge maze, Celestia goes "Hey, what's that I heard clatter onto the floor? Oh, here are the Elements! They're just invisible!"

Maybe "back where you began" is referring to Ponyville? They'll go back, rediscover their friendship and the things that make them embody their elements, and the elements get summoned back to them.

Or maybe Luna took them to play dress up with. "I just wanted to try them on, how was I supposed to know you'd need them?"

In all seriousness, though, I was quite interested to hear that both Celestia and Luna used the Elements to seal Discord. I wonder if his last act before he was stoned was to plant seeds of doubt in Luna's mind...

Okay, this is slightly off topic, but the MLP Nightmare fuel page already has a Season 2 section and it's almost as long as the entire first season's section despite only containing one episode.

Discord doesn't fool around.

And seriously, those long legged animal things are probably the freakiest thing I've seen in this show.

Doesn't help that they're apparently inspired by Salvador Dali

Here's a thought: What if Discord isn't a Reality Warper? What if he's simply great with illusions, hypnosis, and suggestions?

So the Elements of Harmony were never missing, but simply made invisible. Similarly, Rainbow Dash's and Fluttershy's wings never really disappeared, nor did Twilight and Rarity's horns, he just made them think he took them away? And once the ponies realize he's the biggest lying liar liar-pants that ever lied, they can defeat him by ignoring all of his fake predictions and fake threats and get all rainbow on him?

Well they were doused in chocolate milk. Being wet probably made them much stickier.
