Feh, try asking that to a film studies class like the one I'm in. Or my parents

It's impossible to talk to anyone about ANYTHING anymore in real life. They just don't get it. My dad especially can't even seem to COMPREHEND my preferences (even the most basic one of "I. LIKE. VILLAINS")

My sister kind of understands... but still. She'll want me to watch A Game Of Thrones because of stuff the good guys do. Major Mistake there.

There's nothing wrong with liking relatively simple movies, unless you're trying to be pretentious.

I'm a believer in Evil is Cool. I wanted to be a supervillain when I grew up. Actually, I still kinda wanna be a supervillain.

Hey Miss Cheerilee! I've heard a rumor that your related to the pony known as "Berry Punch". Is this true?

Ha ha. And I want to do social good and work for a wonderful nonprofit when I grow up. Or at least do something that will make the world better. I just hope I don't become an extremist waii

It's like, that's why I'm REALLY unsure of whether I'd like The Godfather or not. Even though our class will probably be watching that soon

What is The Queen's Thief series?

[up] I love The Godfather! I love all gangster movies. Jimmy Cagney is my favorite actor.

Twinkleshine's brushable toy's description says that she "dreams about being a famous movie star. Drama. Comedy. Action. She loves it all!" So movies seem to be All There in the Manual.

I wonder... Ginger, what do you think about Villain Protagonists?

The squad car pulled them over into the forecourt. They were questioned, searched, then arrested.

Simple. evil grin

Also, if we're talking old favourite comedies, mines Laurel and Hardy, followed by The Three Stooges.

So, in PF 6, I'm trying to get on the floating continent.
Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.

@kegi I REALLY don't like them. I'm more a fan of the main characters' OBSTACLES rather than the main character himself sad

What is The Queen's Thief series?

One where all the protagonists have CMO As and cunning schemes, while the villians are forgettable.

It's a Black Comedy about a guy who kills Alec Guiness eight times to become duke. Really funny.

And the antagonists? All of the Dascoynes each have their own separate personality even though they're all played by Alec Guiness. Sybella is devious and clever. Hilarity Ensues.

How would that make you a duke? And how do you kill someone 8 times?

I'm not big on Villain Protagonists, not permanent ones anyway (A Day in the Limelight for a more traditional villain can work). I mean, I often like the characters themselves, but that's the problem. They are meant to be sympathetic and the Hero Antagonist isn't. While I like Sympathetic villains, I find it bittersweet when the guy you know will always beat them isn't rootable. It's one of the key things I have against shows like The Dreamstone, Grim And Evil and a lot of Looney Tunes shorts.

I often like hero characters but they often have a very specific quality for me to get into them. I often find there's a very thin line between a benevolent hero thwarting an evil villain and a smug jackass bullying a harmless bumbler. Maybe it's just a thing I have with Butt Monkeys.

Saw that film, it's an oldie with lots of dated upper crust dialogue but pretty good. Heard they edited it in the US because they didn't like the Villain Protagonist looking too sympathetic though.

He's in line to be the duke, and 8 people are ahead of him, see? So he kills them all. The are all played by one actor. Even the suffragette. Obi Wan in drag. In a hot air balloon. What could be better?

Outside, two fools have just been arrested for drugs.

That's all.
