Cute episode, though pretty much telegraphed the ending right from the start. Apparently, Twilight has spent too much time on the Internet reading conspiracy theories lately... or something like that.

I think for stuff like that we should keep in mind that this is a show written for children. I'm not saying that like it's a bad thing, but I think a bit of predictability can be tolerated.

Hell, they found it necessary to explain what a phoenix was when adult fans were calling it as a phoenix as soon as the episode description was up.

Oh man, Fluttershy made some good ">implying" faces.

Fluttershy's 'about to bawl' face is one of the cutest things I've ever seen.

Also, I loved how almost the entire opening was dedicated to an Alice in wonderland reference. In fact, come to think of it, I've loved almost every time they've had a long referential joke like that. They always pull them off so well, they don't ever derail at all.

Interesting observation I found elsewhere: You know how the Cutie Mark Crusaders were suddenly wearing 'doctor' equipment in 'Stare Master' when they attempted to 'fix' the table? Fluttershy apparently has some lying around for work, if this episode is anything to go by.

I think he means Rarity being hyper paranoid about her dress, and Pinkie being marginally more insane than normal. And I think you may have a point, at that. I can never really sound out Pinkie's character, so I can't say about her, but Rarity was a bit overboard. I mean, why would she wear the dress she was planning on wearing to the gala if she was so defensive about it...But, beside the Everfree forest as the choice location for 'banishment' and the diamond dogs tunnels for 'imprisonment', I think the episode may have faced budget issues, so they just a ready-made dress...like they did with the gala dresses in Fluttershy's house. I though Applejack was normal enough, though, and Rainbow Dash screwing with the guards was hilarious.

Twilight's fear of Celestia probably not approving of her friends' eccentricities?

As much as the writers love throwing in little gags aimed at the internet crowd, I'm afraid that may be a bit too copyright infringy.
