I have a huge beef with the Hollywood Personality Disorders trope. Seriously, if we applied that trope like that in real life everybody would have a personality disorder of some sort. Seriously, you can put every single fictional character under one category. And for some idiots to say that MLPFIM is a prime example of a cast of characters with personality disorders is just idiotic. And with a show as innocent as MLP, the Ron the Death Eater trope is in full swing.

Actually, the real reason is I have a problem with people being armchair psychiatrists and diagnosing people left and right. Real or fictional. Mostly because I've been a victim of it.

In unrelated news... I'm reading Phoenix Wright X Miles Edgeworth slashfic. I don't know if I should feel bad about myself for that...

In actual news that are semi-related to this thread: Good night everyone who went to bed. I got really busy packing up everything in my room. I'm leaving tomorrow.

[up] And I completely agree with you. Don't worry

Bad, but not as bad as I feel for reading a Goku/Anne Frank fic.

I never truly understood just how bad things could get...

Wait. What? Anne Frank? At least I'm reading a pairing with some base on canon. Since, apparently, Edgeworth doesn't like women, according to Word Of God.

No you do not want to know. And neither do I, but it's too late for that.

.... Well. Also, now that I think about it, it's more a shipping fic than a slash fic. They haven't even kissed yet and it's like the 9th chapter already (and she writes long chapters).

And this talk means I have nothing interesting to say. Hurray.

Weee, been a while since I've linked something. In case anyone's wondering, I was fighting with this Celestia drawing the entire time because I got the brilliant idea to draw something with pretty much no existing references. evil grin

Yeah, I find ponies to be really hard to doodle, so don't worry about it.

That's why you practice. Even if they're just quick doodles, you get better pretty quickly.

Nope. I'm playing the Xbox 360 version. My PC has trouble with YouTube. Yeah.

At first me and the friend I was playing with were trying to help each other, but we have a Vitriolic Best Buds thing going on, so it quickly degraded into trying to sabotage each other.[lol]

@Ginger: Glad that you enjoyed most of chapter 9 and like the Mean 6. I'm guessing that Insipid and Curacao are your favourites?

As for the relationship between Pinkie and RD, it is a bit odd for this kind of story, but it's fairly background, so it doesn't really bother me.

EDIT: As to Story's comments about the canon characters being OOC, I admit that I think that they are slightly OOC, but this is meant to take place in the future and I think that they are fairly close for the most part. It is one of the reasons that I think the author would be better with original fiction though.

@Berry Bubble: I admit it may be an exagerration, but part of what I like about all the ponies is that they have very deep flaws and quirks, ones that play into them being both highly relatable and also rather wacky and amusing. I guess some could see that as being related to a disorder (eg. Twilight's anal retentiveness or Rainbow Dash's narcissm), but truthfully I find completely normal acting characters to be less realistic and relatable anyway. When you really think about it, is there anyone you know in real life that acts completely generic and 'normal'?

As for ages, I kinda see Applejack or Rarity being the oldest and Pinkie being the youngest. Twilight being the main character is likely the mid point.

There's a difference between being generic and being normal.

There's also a difference between having a disorder and being a normal person with issues.
Am I hurting? Am I sad? Should I stay or should I go?
I've forgotten how to tell. Did I ever even know?

It's especially bad when people start claiming that every character who's the least be asocial has Aspergers.

And goodbye everyone.

@Kyler: Sorry, I tend to relate 'normal' to being The Everyman or Flat Character, void of personality traits and no real preferences or opinions of their own outside the most mundane. In other words, completely dull and bland ("Hi, how are ya?"). The nearest to being this in FIM are Applejack and Twilight, and even they have far too many amusing flaws and abrasive qualities to make them this. They fit the 'normal guy with issues' much better (and even that might be leniant considering them at their very worst; real normal, right?....).

@storyeller: Well they can't ALL have burgers up their ass.evil grin

Night, storyeller.
