Figured. That can either end really badly, or REALLY awesomely (or both) XD

I think the artist in charge of the artwork didn't do a very good job of making Insipid (especially her mane) look dirty.

... Why does Starlight seem to (relatively) respect Curacao? It's not like she's not infinitely stronger than her

Because Curacao is very smart and very crafty. And probably to mirror the relationship Twilight has with AJ.

Cadance's Cutie Mark did have a crystal as the centrepiece.

@Ginger Curaçao also acts as Starlights second in command, it also helps that Curaçao is the older sister.
