I love how Rainbow isn't even in the car; she's just flying behind it.

OK, what does "Dialga" mean in this fandom? I keep seeing it namedropped.

That's one thing I like about Rainbow.

If you notice, she is almost always hovering just off the ground. Even when it would be better to just stand there, she's a good 5 feet in the air.

Compare to Fluttershy, who acts like an earth pony most of the time. It's a subtle thing, but I like it.

Also, it took me forever to realize that when the Poison Joke "cursed" Dash, it turned her wings upside down. I thought it just took away her sense of direction or something like that.

It's probably just another stupid furfag.

The Poison Joke didn't just turn Dash's wings upside down...it moved them to her stomach!

Also, Dialga is the name of some troll who keeps posting these over indulgent "fanfics" where he saves the day based on pictures in Ponibooru.

Gah! It's like virtually impossible to find a video of "Swarm of the Century" in 1080p. Practically every episode BUT "Swarm" is available for viewing and downloading in that resolution. And I need that episode if I'm going to remake my "Pinkie Pied Piper" video.

The nice part of having my Gunnerpony art on Ponibooru is that someone thought it was good/funny enough to put up. It's a good feeling.

Someone who reads the Gunnerkrigg forum at least, since I never put it on my (mostly unused) deviantART.

Yeah, zerky noticed this too. It's even reflected in their choice of housing. Rainbow lives in a huge pimped out cloud mansion thing with rainbow fountainy things and Fluttershy lives in a comparatively humble cottage-type thing on the ground near the woods.

Come to think of it, assuming Scootaloo isn't an exception and pegasi aren't born learning how to fly or learn to fly at a very young age, how do young pegasus-ponies ever get home if their parents live in a cloud house or in Cloudsdale or something? zerky supposes that if they live in Cloudsdale, they'd presumably never leave until they learned to fly, but the whole place seems to be designed for ponies that can traverse large vertical distances and wide gaps at will. Young/flightless pegasi must have something to compensate for this disability.

Very significant part of that castle is a weather factory: fillies are better off not being able to wander there.
Though they also presumably have the innate pegasi ability to walk on clouds - and Twilight and Co were able to get there using only this. Perhaps flight is not strictly necessary to navigate the place, only more convenient.
Also, fillies are small, their parents can carry them between earth based kindergarten and their sky home.

Puts a whole new meaning to "pick you up after school", doesn't it?

Peasus ponies learn to fly the way birds do: they get pushed off a cloud.

This has me wondering, what is the education system in Equestria? Is it publicly funded? Are things like Flight School private institutions? Are some ponies home-schooled? Will there be an arc where Scootaloo gets sent off to Flight School and it causes tension among her friends? There's some potential here.

Also, a bit of Fridge Logic from Dragonshy... when Fluttershy had to jump across that canyon and was terrified, why didn't anypony remind her that she could FLY? Flying IS safer than jumping in that instance, you'd think Twilight or Rainbow Dash would point that out.

She was so scared of the dragon and the mountain that her wings just sort of locked up and weren't responding. It was an involuntary nervous reaction. Note that after her wings lock up at the start of the climb, she doesn't fly again until she's scolding the dragon.

Apparently, during a "fight or flight" situation, her wings lock up during her "flight" reaction, but they're good to go in "fight" mode. Funny how that works, eh?

That's pretty interesting to think about. Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara both go to the same school as Apple Bloom, and although it's never outright stated whether they're rich or not, it seems like a pretty safe assumption. zerky supposes that those two might be in some sort of private school if it existed, but the only alternative schooling mentioned is flight school. Flight school is also kinda weird in that it's not only ponies attending, if Gilda went there as well.

Enlong already explained why Fluttershy didn't fly across, but zerky wonders why Rainbow didn't either. It's a tiny gap, alright, but seeing how Rainbow is always flying or hovering even when it makes no sense for her to be (and even if it makes the situation worse), it makes no sense for her to be jumping it.
