I see Norn as a wandering samurai.

He appears rarely, drifting into town every so often. He runs into a thread, and slices it in twain with one cut of his razor sharp logic.

Then he leaves, to be see again at some point in the future...

So yes, I think he'd remain mostly neutral about all this.

I think everyone thinks a bit too highly of Nornagest. It's not that he doesn't qualify for a fair bit of respect, but the man has his faults, too.

Hell, he used to like Ayn Rand, IIRC.
