@unobtainable cheese: I dunno...yeah, ostensibly pixar movies are for kids, but some of the later ones you really have to question that. Up was one of the more depressing movies I've seen, even with a happy message behind it, but I guess kids might not catch that side of it...Toy story 3 is the tipping point, if you ask me. I mean, what was the major theme of that movie? moving on, finding purpose, etc etc...not really kids stuff, if you ask me.

Well, okay, I suppose their earlier movies were a lot more kiddy, so there's that. Really, though, I don't think it's a matter of aimed at kids but appealing to adults, I think it's just a matter of aimed at people. Slapstick isn't only funny to kids, if it's pulled off right, and as long as the joke doesn't go over their heads kids like clever written humor.

@anonymous user: huh? What am I looking for?

since I'm editing anyways, I may as well give my two bits about the dresses: I figure if they've kept continuity across a good 11 episodes so far regarding the gala, their gonna keep it until the end, and bring the dresses back.

Toy Story 3 was dark, but so were parts of Finding Nemo and The Incredibles.

Yay! Gala episode!

And they had better be wearin' the dresses. Just like, have them on for the whole episode, 'cause that's what they were made for.

And their Elements of Harmony jewelry! :P

(I imagine we haven't seen those since episode 2 because they don't need to whip out magic whoopass in everyday situations)

Actualy, now that you mention it, i kinda have to wonder, what happened to those things? like, physically? I mean, di they just take them off? Do they magic them on and off? Do they do some sailor moon-style tranformation sequence?

keeping fingers crossed for another element's transformation sequence—just cause fluttershy's expression was ADORABLE the first time it happened.

I think the jewelry was part of the power-up. I think they need to activate their powers to get them back or something? I doubt we'll see it again unless they're all in one place and need to take care of something matching the threat level of Nightmare Moon.

For some reason I thought of them magicking Gilda and the dragon into behaving.

That seems far too Care Bears-esque, though. Incidentally, for some reason the Google suggestion "care bears vs. my little pony" amuses me to no end

[down] Yeah, I prefer when they deal with threats on their own.

It made the defeat of the dragon and the cockatrice that much sweeter.

[up][up]That seems a little extreme. Especially when the conflicts were resolvable by regular old talking it out.

Photobucket was being retarded and resized it. I uploaded it to imageshack instead, with no resizing.
