It would also be nice if they had background ponies hang out with their fanon friends. Seeing Lyra and Bonbon or Derpy and Carrot Top together would be cool. And I would love them forever if Dinky started showing up with Derpy.

Same here. I wouldn't mind importing the more logical names into the show. But only the ones that fit, obviously. Except for Steven Magnet. I know that it doesn't really fit the naming style of the show, but I think it's too hilarious to pass up.

That too, although if Derpy is getting more characterization, inserting Dinky in there might be a bit much. Although it would probably be adorable enough that I probably wouldn't care if it happened.

I've gotten so into Friendship is Magic and using pony related replacements for words and names that I seriously just read "J Edgar Hoover" as "J Edgar Hooves"

This doesn't bother me nearly as much as it should

They might drop names and maybe a commonly accepted gag, like Derpy eating a muffin or Lyra sitting like a human again. In that Riddit interview Jayson said he didn't know what Cupcakes was, which is a good thing and seems to imply that the staff's fanon knowledge only goes so far.

I will be very happy if they never ever include even a reference to Cupcakes, even a subtle one.

I think the cupcakes ignorance is a result of the crew being forbidden from reading fanfic. Fanart is okay, I think. Faust actually comment on some Deviantart entries, so they're probably aware of some of it. At the very least, they know which characters fans have latched on to, and they're aware of the basic fanon characterizations. So stuff like Derpy and Lyra could conceivably make it into the show.

Same here. I'm basically happy to ignore the fact that it exists.

Re: "Swarm of the Century": Pinkie's irritatingness in that episode was one reason why I liked the Friendship Is Witchcraft version so much—in which Pinkie talks entirely clearly and reasonably and they dismiss her warnings as "gypsy magic".

Something tells me that there is more to pinkie tha it meets the eye... That or Rule of Fun

I would also be happy to never see Cupcakes referenced. I find people's fixation on it can get annoying. Like during the Sibsy and Raven hour yesterday, people were constantly asking about it and the mods had to tell people to bugger off because it wasn't cute or funny.

Anyway, speaking of the Bronyville Mare-athon, I'm glad I stayed for the last episode so I would be inspired to make this.

Magneto seems to be popping up a lot lately. What happened with him during the Mare-athon?

My mind cannot wrap itself around the concept of people who find Pinkie Pie irritating. Sure, sometimes you might want her to have a party somewhere else when you need to get some stuff done, but she's the type of pony who'd say "Okey-dokie lokie!" and move on if you'd simply ask her.

And there's some evidence that parasprites were tied in to Pinkie's rock-farming past; note that the music she played to lead them out of Ponyville was the same tune she played for her family's first surprise party.

As for Cupcakes, there are some people who just need to take the pure and innocent and corrupt them, for whatever bizarro reason. Mock 'em, I say.

@Crowfall: I explained it on my site, but long story short, he kept popping up during The Best Night Ever. And the hosts were just being goofy and blaming all the things that went wrong on him. And also singing him into the song lyrics at random.
