It'd be interesting if Discord causes a breakdown of the ponies' control over nature, and this is an entirely unexpected storm that's tearing through Ponyville.

...Oh wait, what? Oh yeah, this is more than likely Discord related. The weird...rain..stuff.

Hasbro could be trolling us and this (and the future screenshots they show) are from later episodes and have nothing to do with Discord.

I'm trying to think of how the sequence of events will go. Will they first meet Discord in Celestia's palace? Will bad stuff (like the brown storm) start to happen around Ponyville/Equestria and Celestia recognizes it as Discord so she asks the Mane Cast to come round her palace?

Isn't Discord going to be a recurring villain?

I don't think they've said, and even if he is, he'll probably only show up a few times over the season. He isn't going to be popping up in every episode.

Probably for the best if he doesn't. The adventure stuff is nice but only if we need a breather from the slice of life side of the show.

Actually, what kind of effect would a recurring villain have on the tone of MLP anyway?

I reckon it would make the show more action oriented (cool to imagine, but I don't think I want to see it in practice.)

I whant more adventure style episodes, but not just with Discord but with other villains. S2 still can have Big Bad who is not Discord.

I just find out that 17 sep is in saturday not friday :I One more day to new ponies :/

You can only have one Big Bad at a time. Said Big Bad can have a crap ton of minions though. You have a problem with Discord?

He sound more like minion, lesser villain or someone defeated earlier, not main antagonist for this season.

I forgot about "Saturday Morning Cartoon" thing. Maybe it will uploaded on YT and I watch later that day.

Minions generally don't get the "Sealed away for thousands of years treatment"

Although tbh, it indeed would be awesome if there was a Bigger Bad behind Discord. Just for the sake of irony. A guy all about manipulation was being manipulated himself the whole time.

Depend on what kind of minion he is. Sometimes evil forces are full of sealed somewhere monsters and stuff. Especialy when good guys forces are strong (and in MLPFIM world they propably are).

Maybe Discord is just begining . He will be first to awake and go to misterious place Zakha Doom when evil gather forces.

This is actually a massive event. Discord is the first Purely Evil (apparently) being we've ever seen in Equestria. Every other villain has either been corrupted, wild, or just an asshole.

We can't be sure if Discord is really pure evil, not corrupted. He may be just cute, nice lizard turned into moster by Tirac Expy thousends years ago.

The Big Bad is whatever corrupted Luna

It also corrupted Discord and any other big villains we meet throughout the show's life.

Yeah, its a bit early to say what Discord is or what his motivations are. Lets at least meet the guy first. Do we even know what he's going to do, aside from stealing Rainbow's colors?
