That's something I'm looking forward to having answered. Is it a cutie mark, or a tattoo? Can zebras get cutie marks? If it's a cutie mark, what does it mean?

I just think that the art ponies grow up with influence their cutie marks. The issue is the shape with me. The only other pony with a cutie mark representing a celestial object is well... Celestia and Luna. It would be awesome if Zecora was actually the Zebra sun alicorn in disguise.

Zecorah having a cutie mark is rather strange though.

Maybe she IS a pony, and was simply born looking like a zebra. Her cutie mark is something related to Zebra culture, and represents her love of it
