Just wanted to toss out another vote for letting ponies be ponies. Having the FIM cast be humans would carry too much Real World Baggage to make it escapist, fantastic, and silly.

We aren't really talking about whether the show would be better with humans (although I agree that it's better with ponies for the reasons already mentioned). It's more about one shot fanart like "what would the ponies look like if they were human" kinds of things.

^Exactly. It's interesting to see how different artists interpret the character cues in each pony's personality and appearance.

About humanisation - I deeply hate it. It oposite of what Ponies are and of many things from show.

Death, you seem prone to making blanket charged statements and then refusing to explain them.

As some people have said, the idea of human characters isn't as interesting as talking eff'ing ponies! The idea that ponies that could run a society that would make the animals in Animal Farm have an aneurysm sounds so awesome.

Edit: Also, I've seen enough human teen oriented shows. I really don't care about seeing another.

Cliche as it is. I really wouldn't mind an episode where the ponies stumble into an alternate vesion of Equestria where everyone is human (either becoming humans themselves or staying as ponies and teaming up with their humanized forms) because honestly: I want to see the creator's idea of humanized ponies. Plus I think it would make for a funny episode.

The thing is, we aren't talking about replacing the ponies in the show with humans, or even stories about the ponies as humans. I fully understand why the show itself is more unique due to the fact that they're ponies. I agree that the series is better that way. I'm talking about stuff like this

, where the entire point is simply "What would Pinkie look like as a human?"

I get that not everybody likes it, but I just find it weird that DC seems to hate it so much and I want to understand why.

I recall reading somewhere that this whole pony show got started because Lauren Faust was pitching a show based on Galaxy Girls, but I want to re-find the source before I toss that under What Could Have Been on the Triva page or the new Galaxy Girls page.

I think there are rumors (mainly becuase Jasson thiessen hinted it) That she leaved MLP for Milky Way and The Galaxy Girls.

Speaking of humised ponies I like them But ponies are 20% cooler than humans

Just for fun, I'd rather see the mane six visit a parallel universe where the dominant creatures were neither ponies nor humans.

I think there's a section of their world were dragons live and the few we see in the show are simply ones who got lost or misplaced.

Apparently, the sky is also filled with enormous celestial beings made of stars that can destroy a town in a second! Good luck enjoying star-gazing now, everypony!
