I'm good with humanization, personally.

And I like the idea of humanoids being in MLP:FIM, because hands are just so freaking useful. You can't have a proper society without hands. That's like having a fancy dinner without forks.

They seem to cope ok though. In fact I like the different ways the writers can have the ponies use stuff without hands.

Sometimes I wonder, would this show be as popular if the ponies were humans instead? Same fantasy setting, same characters, same hair, same cute cartoony style

◊), still made by Lauren Faust... Would it still be the same crazy memetastic show we love? There are, after all, lots of cartoons/animes with cute human girls... but not a lot with cute ponies...

I think a lot of people liked the show because of how exotic the premise of enjoying My Little Pony was. And since it was a decent show, it kept most of the fans it attracted. Doubt it would of gotten the same start if it was about humans, and it would have been one of those cult classic thingamajigs.

I don't know. I personally wouldn't have liked it as much, since the pony side of things is one of my favourite parts of the show.

An entire civilization built around fucking ponies, and done well no less! It's fascinating, and I want to keep watching just to see more of this world. It wouldn't have quite the same effect if they were all humans

Making them animals instead of humans gives the show more of a fantasy setting and exists separate from reality. Also, this way, it harkens back to cartoons like the Looney Tunes, where there are more animals than people in the cast.

I may not hate the humanification, but I'm certainly not a fan of it.

The 34 stuff on the other hand, I'd say that yeah, I probably hate that in both pony and non-pony form.

That's true. While most people just got atractted becuase it is my little pony.

It wouldn't be any less awesome if they were humans. The show is great for their personalities not because they are ponies.

Would Pinkie or the others really have the same charm if they weren't ponies though? There's just something about them in pony form that just feels... right

Maybe I'm just a guy who dislikes change too much. Or Maybe I get attatched to things too easily

I say this show with humans istead ponies don't make sence. Just like My Life as a Teenage Robot with Jenny being human instead robot.

you are right that's part of the charm!. I still think it could work somehow

That's different because to be honest transforers tend to be a bit of flat regarding perosnlaity. Their appeal is robotic action!. Nobody really cares what Optimus Prime does in his spare time nor Megatron' intentions for being evil for example

While with MLP we could literally discuss what rainbow dash opinion on something or Princess Luna's intentions for being nightmare moon for hours

I wouldn't say it's quite the same as that example. Since Jenny being a robot is integral to that show's plot. The ponies being... ponies, isn't.

You aren't like an MLP version of one of those people who saw Avatar and desperately wanted to become a N'avi are you, Death?

THAT'S IT!! You hate the fact that the token human in a show about non-humans is normally treated as something great and special don't you? Detracting from said non-human characters by being better than them.
