@ L Mage: You might have to wait a while. Even now, there doesn't seem to be much Genderbent!Mane 6 artwork. It's so sad...

I really enjoy Elizabeth Bishop. I've read only a few of her poems though, although I find it really impressive that she spent a whole freaking 20 years working on just one poem. She was a perfectionist and that was awesome.

"For my heart is dead inside" is almost a better line than "In my heart there is no room."

I've never read any of her stuff. What poem did she write for 20 years?

@Con: Yeah, poetry is sort of written off as being too pretentious, but some of it is really good. I'm rather partial to John Donne myself.

You should read "One Art" ONLY after reading her past history. It gives a lot more insight. It's part of the reason why I was able to write for a whole 4 pages without issue (Twice of what I needed for my grade actually XD)

"The Moose" just made me think of Invader Zim. I hope I can still read it seriously.

I thought it was love for herself. Your heart being "dead inside" goes along with not loving anyone but yourself, I thought.

@ con: I haven't actually read it. I just know about it from her bio and I thought it was an interesting tidbit of information. But I got an A on my paper too. It was the first time I got a straight A in one of my English essays too. :'D

@con No. She speaks respectfully of her subjects several times. I honestly think she loves them, the ep just doesn't linger on it.

"Cold inside" might work. "Dead inside" implies a sort of angsty nihilistic despair and a bitter "I don't care about anything anymore" attitude.

I wouldn't go as far as saying she loves her subjects, but she definitely has a vested interest in keeping them happy. How much of that is due to her actually caring and how much of it is due to not wanting a rebellion is up for interpretation.
