I wonder if the Elements shouldn't be easier for the cast to get hold of in a dire situation.

Also, if Celestia had tried to flee, then she would've been admitting to The Queen that she was weaker than her (because if she was stronger, then surely she would've stuck around to fight)
and if Tia left to get the elements and managed to evade The Queen, then Chris could've easily taken one or many of the party guests hostage

Well, let's just say she's a hell of a lot more intimidating that Nightmare Moon (make it night forever? Ooh. Scary.) and a lot more evil than Discord (who wasn't so much evil as insane)
This was pretty funny coming in the middle of a Toph discussion.

Yes, the most logical thing to do was what she did. Everyone, including Chrysalis, was shocked when it went awry.

@ L Mage: Except for when there is Ontological Inertia.
Tealove is best pony.

Mayhap Celestia taught Twilight how to perform that unlocking spell. As such, Twilight is now the master of unlocking.

@Apple That's my point, I don't think they COULD'VE reached the elements, they were set up to fail by Celestia just to make the queen cocky.
That's what I think anyway (and what do I know)

I don't quite think they were set up to fail; yeah actually getting the elements was a long shot, but the alternate plan in that situation is...what? There wasn't exactly a lot else that they could have attempted at that point.
Again, I think the queen knew about the elements, and if Celestia hadn't at least adressed them (sending the cast to get them) in that situation, then the Queen might've gotten incredibly suspicious and might think that they were hiding them somewhere else.
By sending them off like that, and handing the Queen a vitory, she's making the queen feel all the more sure that she's won.

Lurker, how did you know I was just listening to that?
could the Eo H have cleared away all the Changlings? I mean they seem more like a single target type thing that AOE reverses the damage done by their target.
Remember the Anti-Chaos bubble it produced when fighting Discord? Looks like an AOE cure to me.

@Chada well she couldn't have done anything else. A villain is most dangerous when they think the hero is up to something. If they become complacent, then they're more likely to spare you

I don't think Celestia would ever intentionally set up her subjects to fail. There must have been a chance at getting the
Eo H.

Like having Twilight teleport through the door?
