As in, you don't understand how people think it would even happen, or you don't understand why it'd be bad?

@Ginger, re: concerns: I do, yeah. I'm sure my fears are mostly unfounded, especially given the skill and panache the creative team have shown before; I just don't want the show to change appreciably from its (proven winning) style, and throwing any bones to the bronies larger than Ditzy's cameo in "Feeling Pinkie Keen" would be a little jarring, to me at least.

I really hope she isn't actually named Derpy.

Basically we don't want the show to end up a huge mess of in jokes. What they're doing now is working fine, and shoehorning in a bunch of references to the fandom just makes the show obtuse. A few nods would be fine, as long as they don't go overboard.

I'd be surprised if they ever refer to her by name onscreen at all.

I think stuff along the lines of the shouts in those commercials would be fine. Small nods that don't derail things.

We still want the show to appeal to its target audience, of course.

Also, stuff in the background that isn't really the focus of the scene would be fine. Like Lyra and Bon Bon hanging out together more often, or Derpy being seen with Dinky.

It's just... I don't know. The fact that the word is a pretty much negative term doesn't endear itself to me.

Well... I hate to fall back on the old standby, but I'd know too big a bone when I saw one. (And given the origin of that particular quote...)

Anyway, having little background events show up like they do in the first season would be fine, as would having background ponies have slightly larger roles (again, like Ditzy). Hell, even having an abacus on Luna's beside table would be okay, though they'd never do that (see previous discussion about how writers are banned from reading fanfiction for plagiarism fears). What I'm worried about is basically the equivalent of the writers trying to force a meme.

^It's not, but it's less pejorative than Derpy. Much less so. And can we not have the debate again? I'm sure DC's already posting about how he doesn't find any difference between the two, but...

I know showing to much of Derpy and making canon many of her fanon what most of fans don't agree may be a problem but showing something bigger that what they show in FPK is not problem (and they don't do much in that episode, only give her derp eyes, rest of scene wasn't shoutout to bronies).

Also, the latter name's already been used in-show, so I consider that a plus for it.

...anyway.

But episode was propably finished before fans made her into mail pony.

For some reason i want them to play up Celestia's Magnificent Bitch qualities in season 2. Cause the way she seems to be able to plan things out and manipulate people into doing things is beautiful

She is heroic example of MB (some time before Guile Hero trope was for good guys MB).

They should also show more of her badass side.

I have teory that most times in show thing go as she planed (even Dragonshy or Sonic Rainboom).

I don't want it to be too brony oriented because people liked the show in the first place when it wasn't. If that makes sense. Besides, it is for little girls, and should always be for them.

I'm actually beginning to see why some people want Celestia to be evil. We have an almighty, all-knowing, manipulative chessmaster on the side of good.

There hasn't been an antagonist yet approaching her kind of ability. Hopefully that'll change in season 2 with Discord
