@Drenius Just standard freshman English. He said the vignette doesn't have to have a plot (as in intro, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution), so I'm probably just going to describe my neighbors and their antics.

The way I see it, trying to explain the concept of Hetero-, Homo-, or bi- to a pony would just confuse them, they would have a hard time understanding why humans made up so many catagories for something like that instead of just being with the one you love. Or even just be amazed that humans even care about stuff like that. If a same sex couble wants a foal, they either adopt, or find a close friend of the opposite gender willing to help them out.

Given the fact that the CMC were exclusively looking into stallions for Cheerilee on Hearts and Hooves Day, I'd say that heterosexuality is still the default/common behavior/preference. I doubt that other orientations hold much social stigma, though.

@Mousa: I know the feeling, networking is a bitch. Especially for introverts. Especially in an industry where your success is pretty much contingent on your ability to network.

Basically, you just have to talk to people. Spread your little social-tendrils around, meet people, etc. Even if they can't help, they might know someone who can, and then your network spreads further.

It's possible they knew her to be straight, but given the age and the fact they didn't know she was single that's unlikely. Of course they also assumed all of the stallions they met were straight as well. I think you're right; Heterosexuality is still pretty much default, but I doubt there's any real stigma. It's just seen as unusual, I'd guess.

Not saying m/f isn;t the predominant and defacto "normal" it's just I dont think ponies even really care enough about someponies swinging the other way to even bother coming up with a specific definition for them.

Trust me, CD, it isn't so bad. I was terrible at making friends when I started school, I pretty much hated talking to people and couldn't make the first move. I still prefer being on my own, but it's now much easier for me to approach people and start a conversation. That's all there is to it, really.

@Purple: Well, the vast majority of the Kindley(or whatever) scale is some degree of bisexual, and I've actually hear theories that the people who think being gay is a choice do so because they themselves are bisexual to a degree. I still think it's unlikely, though, else we'd have likely gotten our collective heads out of our arses about it by now.

@ginger: the terms are interchangeable; it simply refers to everything withing the gender spectrum(Including multigendered, agendered, third gendered(In the applicable cultures), transsexuals, etc.)

And I think the majority of ponies are heterosexual largely because they need to make babies. So it's kind of how most people, once they meet someone, assume that they're straight.

As for everyone is bisexual theory, I believe in the Kinsey scale. A large majority (woops, stupid typo) have at least some bisexuality in them, but there are people who are 100% gay or straight.

Regarding sexuality, I still say that everyone is Bi until spoken otherwise
