I sort of have a difficult time imagining Rarity as a Yaoi Fangirl, simply because working in fashion she would have likely met more than a few homosexuals. The fangirlism to me seems like the thing that comes from not knowing any too closely, oherwise it would simply become commonplace.

I can totally see Twi as a fangirl, though. She would totally write slash fiction, too. Maybe even slash fiction of actual ponies.

Oooh, there's a dumb but funny fic idea - back when Twilight lived in the palace/university, she wrote a slash fic of a couple of the guards she knew - and one of them finds it.

Well I got nothing of value done this afternoon.

That's a good idea for a fic - Twilight writes clopfics starring her friends. Hilarity Ensues.

I sat and played Dragon Age II all day yesterday and a good portion of today. Im not really that into it but I cant stop playing :(

Knowing real gay folks is entirely nonconducive to yaoi fangirling. I haven't met a single gay man who enjoys yaoi, and the gay population in Japan despises it for what it is - gay men being used as little more than wish fulfillment for horny straight women.

And I get the Yaoi Fangirl vibe from Rarity because I suspect she really enjoys trashy romance novels and that sort of stuff. And I know and I'm close to a lot of gay men. I'm still a bit of a Yaoi Fangirl. I think the attraction for it comes not from "OMG! TWO HOT PEOPLE MAKING OUT AND THEY'RE THE SAME GENDER! SCANDALOUS~~" but from how two people are social equals. It's a big issue for women.

Actually, I did read a fic once where Twilight tries writing a trashy romance novel using thinly veiled Expies of her friends, and it was filled with Author Appeal science innuendo. So, yeah, it's been done, and it's quite funny.

That pub scene is hilarious. And that picture inspired by It's a Dangerous Business Going Out Your Door is simply stunning!! It doesn't hurt that A Dangerous Business is one of may favorite fanfic as well as the first MLP fanfic I ever read.

Ah, that fanfic has been on my reading list for the longest time.

Im not going to get to watch the Wedding live unfortunately. Im going to the Smithsonian Craft show in Washington DC this weekend. Ive wanted to go for several years but Ive always either been working or too busy. As long as the weather stays nice it should be fun.

Dragon Heart certainly has good crossover potential. Unfortunately, Angel Heart has about as much crossover potential as Blue Velvet. Meaning none at all, although some part of me is curious as to what an Angel Heart/pony crossover would be like.
