@Sereg They weigh the evil in your soul against a feather. If your soul outweighs the feather then it sends your soul to the Shadow Realm (I think)

@Sereg: The scales are for judging, like in the old Egyptian myth - they weigh a person's heart.
Can you think inside the chimney?

Did we ever actually see the scales in the show?
I always remembered loving the eye the most

So it's like an instant-kill against bad guys? Wow, Hax. I mean I guess all of the items were kinda hax in some form or another against normal people, but even still. "Let's Duel!" "Lol nope shadow realm".
Pff, that's just because of Pegasus being a Magnificent Bastard. Though truth told, I liked it a bit too. I kinda liked the idea of the Key too, though.
Wow, those millennium items sure sound dangerous. Are you guys sure you want some random pony wielding them?
Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.

The Puzzle and the Ring were always pretty vague to me. I still don't know EXACTLY what the Puzzle does (I know it lets you change fate but what the hell does that mean? It lets you cheat at cards?)
and the ring seemed to do whatever the hell the show runners wanted it to do
@kegi Do you deny that pegasus was awesome?!

@Orion:I know I wouldn't, although I've seen some pretty nasty or dangerous artifacts myself.

I want to see the mane cast with the MI so I could see a ponification of this

The Scales and Key are owned by Shadi. In the manga, he used the Scales to judge the souls of people who were messing with the Milennium items. Should they be judged wanting, he has this crocodile beast eat their soul.
They had lazer beams in Egypt?
And I think I know why... aliens.

@Orion: That's nothing, in the days of the Vedic Scriptures in the Mahabarata they had some crazy Indian weapons, like arrows that could be fired as fast as automatic weapons, and a scary-powerful weapon called the Vajra.
I thought the ring just hunted down other items? Or perhaps more generally, it finds what you want?
But the Puzzle always seemed like a cheap item to me, simply because it didn't do anything solid. As far as I knew, it simply summoned the ghost of some dude to posses you and make you grow a few inches.
But yeah, Pegasus was totally awesome. Don't know how a guy managed to be threatening by playing cards, and remaining generally amicable at that, but dude pulled it off.
Ah yes, the Ancient Egyptian Laser Beams...
Man, I haven't watched the Abridged Series in quite a while.
And yeah, Pegasus was a pretty awesome villain. That entire show was a guilty pleasure for me; especially because I watched it mainly because I liked the strategy and thought the plot was just absurd.

I gathered that the puzzle allowed you to decide the outcome of anything that dependd entirely on chance.

He was called MaxiMILLION Pegasus because he had a MILLION dollars, and later he got a spin-off series where he joined up with Steve from Blue's Clues.

I remember the ring also turned Yugi's friends into playing cards and made the cards work in the real world. Like he used it to bind a couple of guards.
Although, I think all the items could do that, they was a whole host of secondary powers that the items had which were poorly established.
I think Pegasus was the only Yu Gi Oh villain that I liked... oh wait, I thought Dartz was pretty cool too

Kaiba was... ok. I don't think I have to explain why
I always loved Pegasus and his Toon deck. Or Dartz and his broken Orichalchos deck.
Who was the guy who had a valkyrie and rose themed deck?

Wasn't Kaiba's deck pretty much built around the Blue Eyes White Dragon?
I'm with Ginger, I always liked the toon deck as a kid. Plus I just love Pegasus's image of 'does not give a fuck'. He just buggers around with his opponents, and always felt like he was in control. He's a damn good villain.
Kaiba spent to much time switching back and forth between ally and bad guy. Never knew whether or not to root for him, so after a while I just got pissed off. Plus he didn't have 'the hair'. My dad always used to say watching an anime, "You know who's gonna win? The guy wit the hair. Root for the guy with the hair."
