Hi there everyone. I see you guys are working on the RPG. How's the progress?

Ooh, first post of the day is a pagetopper. Lucky me.

Alright, I got a character. A Magic Knight Warrior Monk who as a young colt witnessed his village and people (including his family) burned to the ground and destroyed by evil dragons. A group of knights take him under his wing, and he's taught their fighting styles and magic spells. He grows to be a stoic and deeply religous warrior who preaches Celestia's holy name and kicks ass in Her name.

.....still a work in progress, and I'm really trying to avoid making him a Marty Stu.

I think there was some talk of E Ps having green thumb based skills.

@crowlover: I'm considering playing a male, but only because crossplaying could be uncomfortable since I don't know you guys that well.

@Seraphem They would have Animal Empathy available to them, as well as various earth-based powers. No shapeshifting, though, sorry.

@Crowlover My character is Female, but not really interested in relationships as much as finding the real meaning of her cutie mark.

I do recall seeing a skill sheet with Green Thumb type thingy. If you put enough points into it, instant growth isn't far away. It'd be hard to start as a druid, though - you'd have to have good animal relations, see if you could get something to fight for you.

@Crow: My bard would likely be male. As would the EP healer if I went for him. Ironically, it's the only fighting character I've considered that would be female.

Actually, how would a rocket shooting automous helicopter factor into the game?

I think I'll have my charater be a politician from Trottingham who got involved in a massive scandal and ended up with a price on his head. He used the last of his campaign money to hire a bodyguard and had a unicorn surgically alter his face (then had the doctor who performed the operation killed)

He know explores the lands, trying to find some way to become strong enough to have his revenge

I really should go and get maybe an hour or two of sleep.
Be polite. Be efficient. Have a plan to befriend everyone you meet.

How are we doing weapons? I want my guy to have a Cutie Mark of the weapon he uses.

[up][up][up][up][up] I sense you are going to steal whatever lost superweapon we inevitably find.

And would backstabbing do more damage than a normal attack?

It's pretty much the only way my guy can get physical [lol]

I see my character as having to develop a thick outer crust but having an ooey gooey middle if the right buttons are pushed.

She thinks her Cutie Mark is from cheating but will eventually find it has to do more with ingenuity.

@ Ginger: Backstabbing is an auto critical in some games I think. Not certain what our backstab mechanic is.

I figure Stinging Nettles would be from Hoofington. He would have initially started down the path as an apothecary because of his ill grandfather. I imagine his grandfather as a pegasus who eventually lost the use of his wings due to injury and eventually had to have them amputated.

This inspired Stinging Nettles to try and find ways to help ponies with injuries or illnesses similar to his grandfathers. After finishing school, he bought a wagon which doubled as his workshop and set off to find new herbs or formulations that might revolutionise medicine.

I figure he's been on the road for several years now, plying his wares to people and getting by as he can.

Of course, this is the greatly condensed version.

AD&D had multipliers for backstabbing (and they got pretty big as the rogue leveled... like x4), but I've been told the newer D&Ds dropped that for Sneak Attack, which adds extra dice (amount dependent on level).

So, in non-RPG news, you know how Season 1 is up on Netflix? Apparently it is already the #1 TV show and is #3 overall in terms of popularity. That is really impressive.

Wow, MLP ranked as #1 tv show on Netflix? That strikes me a little ridiculous, but I guess that's the strength of the Brony legion.

Add me to the list of people who have never played a tabletop rpg and have no idea what you're all talking about. As such, I probably won't be joining in unless I get convinced through some shenanigans. So I guess I'm asking for you to make it as entertaining as possible to read.

@Netflix. Uh...wow. That's something.
