I was referring to Kyler. And Gigner, of course you're smart enough to play. What makes you think you aren't? You don't have to minmax if you don't want to anyway.

Re: not having enough fighters:Well, I might give Stinging Nettles a respectable strength score, after all, collecting some of the herbs he uses would require a good bit of digging. I also imagine he'd have some muscle from grinding the things he collects into poultices and such.

I'm thinking a Pegasus warrior. He comes from a village that holds true to a lot of the old ways, Earth Ponies are trained to farm, Pegasi are trained to fight. Since he's a Pegasus he was trained to be a fighter from an extremely young age at the expense of not having a standard education. This has left him woefully unprepared for the Modern Peaceful Equestria. Due to not having any real applicable skills he's turned to being a mercenary really, pest control (big pests) bodyguarding whatever. He doesn't care much for luxuries and sends most of his pay home to his parent's farm.

Anyway just what I'm thinking for now, probably will revise later.

Likewise, I've never played a tabletop RPG before, and don't know much of what you're talking about.

Should I be reading this and get back to you guys later?

I understand about... 40% of what you guys are saying, and whenever kegi gets involved in anything I automatically feel stupid and inadequate (since he's pretty much The Ace around here)

Eh, if we don;t have a lot of fighters I could multi-class the pegasus as a rogue/bard. Rogues are always useful - they do huge DPS if they can get to an enemy alive.

Or I could go for the barbarian Cleric. I most came up with it because I thought it would be funny, but... did you know in Never Winter Nights 2 orcs have a racial affinity to the cleric class?

[up]Dude, this is literally my job we are talking about here. If we were talking movies you'd have me outclassed by a mile. Don't feel so bad. It make me feel bad...

We're using a homebrew system, Freeman. Unfortunately, I don't have the link to the rules document, you'll have to ask someone else.

Ginger, please don't give up without trying. I'm sorry if I've been a bit impenetrable in my terminology or obtuse in my attitude. I'm just used to gaming since I've been at it for about nine years.

I think we have 4 fighters right now.

Hmmm, alright...

I got a few ideas for a character, should go think them over then.

[up] There we go. Thanks.

Go go gaming vets!

But yeah, don't be so easily discouraged. To best part about having everyone be more experienced than you is that you can pretty much ask anyone for help.

Don't worry about not understanding Ginger it'll make more sense when we get into it. Just remember to play how you think your character would react to the situation and pray you don't get any 1s.

Any tips for coming up with backstory?

Ohhhh, so unsure, should my EP politician be from Manehattan or Trottingham? [lol]

I wonder if having a hilarious accent counts for anything in terms of gameplay? XD

I've never seen backstory actually be relevant in any game I've played beyond establishing personality and starting conditions.

@ CDRW: [lol]In at least two of my games my character's backstory is important. Of course both cases are a bit unusual, so you're actually right to some extent.

[up]I suppose that one way to handle it. Of course, I might just drop out to make handling things a bit easier, or make room for other folks.

If I did a character for the RP it would be a Pegasus Rogue/Bard type. The idea I have for my character is that she ran a gambling den before she got run out of town.

Well apparently, the more elaborate you make it, the less likely it is to ever come up.

@ Apple: Well, we're all expecting Ginger's sudden yet inevitable betrayal, right? Some of us could side with him.
