@Rainbow It would be best if we didn't do that, if only because of the implications of children of canon characters. The timeframe is still up in the air, at the moment, but it will most likely be in the same general time period as the show.

In G1, they had a magic mirror that basically did a kind of parthogenesis, producing baby ponies that were effectively genetic clones of their "mothers". Of course, they also had Big Brother Ponies as well.

I'm really more focused on getting the system prepared before I decide on exactly what I want the campaign to be, so the exact setting is still up in the air.

@death This is the doc that we're putting the rules in as we make them. A lot of numbers are going to change a lot, especially in Attribute assignment and growth departments, but it's a start. I should have a template for skills up tonight so we can start designing those. That is going to be the area where we need the most contribution.

We should stat Cutie Mark Failure.

I propose that it involves a spectacular failure of some kind involving the Talent of Choice. It would result in the pony's stats taking hits here and there, with penalty to their roles and in a flavor sense, will make them behave irrationally and depress them immensely ;_;

Will we have mechanics revolving around the Elements of Harmony, apart from having them affect skills? That can apply to this, a Harmony Mechanic system that affects the difficulty, so someponies might find it harder to do things for evil/disharmonius purposes or something. Also, under this kind of ruling, we could stat it such like even doing difficult feats become possible because of Harmony bonus, like Dashie successfully executing the Sonic Rainboom partly to save Rarity and the Wonderbolts.

I keep having mental pictures of us re-enacting something like Friendship is Dragons :D

Cadance's dark secret is a corrupted Magic Mirror that makes bad reflections of the Mane Six. They have to harmonize it to save the Wedding, and now they have twin sisters :D

I was wondering, what happens when you get a cutie mark totally unrelated to your name? Like your birth name is Lightning bolt and for whatever reason you get a squirrel as a cutie mark. Do you change your name to fit your cutie mark?

Well, Pinkie's name isn't directly related to her cutie mark...

I suppose you could at least tweak your name to fit your new Mark, so it doesn't look out-of-place

Just wondering what the opinion is on the matter. My OC started out with a different name but when she gets her cutie mark the town starts calling her something else, and she's rather ashamed of it and leaves... but it ends up sticking.

Well Turtlebutter, some ponies do choose to change their names *shudder*. Personally though, I feel that doing so is a tad disrespectful. What would Star Swirl the Bearded think if he thought that I was rejecting his name!

EDIT: Oh, I can understand the dissapointment that one experiences when ponies refuse to call one by their real name! Someponies even just call me "Star"! As if there aren't hundreds of ponies named "Star"! It's just too confusing!
