Or do what a famous holy man did and tell your group of friends that one of them will betray you for shits and giggles.

Rule 0 of role-playing games: It's just a game, you should really just relax.

[up][up]Wow, that would actually be an awesome stunt for a GM to pull on his players, see if it becomes a Self-Fulfilling Prophecy.

Confound it, I missed the Element usage [lol]

It's fun to derail a scenario and go where we don't get roads, though.

Figured out I can switch to a German Keyboard Layout. Yay!

Really? The best I've been able to do is to switch to a generic "US-International" keyboard layout, which is a real pain. How did you get German?

Alright, the full Character Creation Rules are done! All we need now is Skills and you guys can start rolling some ponies. Feel free to ask question/make criticisms, I need as much of that as I can get.

Under Control Panel, find something for Language. You can set it to have multiple keyboard options.

I originally did it for 日本語, but when fooling around, discovered that the German lets you type Umläute.

I added Español también.

Well I'm supposed to be doing schoolwork. It's so hard to resist the distractions.

Edit: Forget this, there's no way I'll be able to get work done tonight anyway.

@Lurker: looks good so far, but I'd give Earth Ponies less of a base stat buff and more skill points.

I should also like to see a potential list of skills.

@Perpetual Lurker: Your rules for Attributes seem kind of wonky to me. Starting with 60 points means that if you want your character to be good at anything, they absolutely have to go below average in one of the attributes. It seems to really pretty much require the players to do a lot of stat dumping in order to make a character with decent attributes, which is weird cause I remember you saying you wanted to discourage stat dumping.

In addition, I think the maximum number for attributes should definitely be higher than 16. An attribute of 16 only confers a +3 bonus. Since we'll be rolling D20s (at least, I assume we will, since it mentions being a D20 system... you should really make that clear) a +3 bonus is not really a big change to the randomness of the roll. Since we can only get a +1, +2, or +3 bonus, we'll only be able change the outcome by 5-15%. This leaves most outcomes up to chance more than the character's ability, so even a character who is meant to be extremely strong would still have the outcome of their strength checks be mostly random.

Quoting from the rules: "having less than six points in an attribute is extremely unhealthy, and can be detrimental to the basic functioning of your character, and having more than 16 is simply unnatural without time spent training"

The math simply doesn't support this. Having a 6 in an attribute is only a -4 penalty against a d20 roll. And a +4 (18 attribute) only increases the roll by 20%, which is good but not what I would consider unnatural.

It looks like the cap of 16 is only for starting. You can still raise it higher than 16 by leveling.

The fact that non E Ps have to dump a stat to have any advantage is a little odd though.

I figured that since he mentioned this was similar to a D20 system, it would probably follow the D20 standard of extremely slow attribute growth. In Dnd and the many games based on it, you only get a +5 attribute point increase over 20 levels, and most games don't go anywhere near that high.

Actually, 6 is a -4 penalty in this system.

Oh, yeah, you're right. I still think it needs an overhaul though. As it stands, most actions will be left up almost totally to chance.

And so the Elements were used once more... But elsewhere, another lay saddened... and forgotten.

For his unknown burden in life was to be the Element of Forgetfulness. His actions, and even his mere presence in the memories of others, would be doomed to vanish. Even his very involvement in events could change the tide of key events... simply by letting him get involved.

And there would be no one the wiser for it... If only, sometimes he thinks, they could remember him... Perhaps then he wouldn't be so depressed...
