I generally prefer starting with a concept and building the character around it.

Granted, sometimes the concept is mechanics based, like "a character of this race should not play this class, but does", which led me to the half-orc wizard.

^ Someone would mind about slogging through something they don't feel like reading. Plus, I think it's more organized to have a split thread for this.

Didn't get one too close to my part of D/FW (Keller and Westlake area), but I heard that Arlington got hit pretty badly.

I generally prefer starting with a concept and building the character around it.

I usually do the opposite. I like my character's abilities to stem from his personality and backstory. If there is some ability that I absolutely am sure I want though, sometimes I build the character around it. I haven't actually gotten to play very many characters though, since I'm usually gm. My last character I got to play for a grand total of 1 session.

@Fallen: Certain areas got hit really hard by the tornadoes, but me and everyone I know came out of it fine. A friend of mine lives like right next to where one of them hit though, so I was pretty worried about her.

I just talked to Colin about the RP. We both said no. Our schedules basically prevent us from forming commitment. Though, I wouldn't mind acting as a minor character to help the party along the campaign.

Anyway, It's late over here. Time for me to gaze at the stars for hours on end.

Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.

I've been in only one game that lasted more than one session, and that was one where everyone cared more about goofing off than actually R Ping and the GM himself didn't bother reading the rules.

Just Finished Dark Sins. I can see why people complain about it so much. On the other hand it is fairly well written and I quite liked it.
