I'm pretty sure lemon cupcakes are a thing. Not the most common thing, but a thing.

Unless I'm mixing it up with lemon cake. But I can totally imagine a lemon cupcake being delicious.

I know its way too old, but I HAVE to comment on this.

I Hate that Vinyl Scratch x Octavia fic. Because Vinyl acts like a complete bitch and gets away with it and Im not fond of Jerk Sue 's.

If it's what I'm thinking it is, I raised a similar complaint.

I'd have said it's borderline Writer On Board but I don't think anyone actually buys into the interpretation presented.

The ending to the first chapter is fine but she was still a huge bitch and the second chapter did not seem to make an effort to change this.

Well, Red Savant has mentioned enjoying it several times (and apparently has a role in an audioplay adaptation?). It's about Vinyl Scratch and Octavia running a radio station.

oh, for some reason I thought it was about Vinyl Scratch interviewing different characters, ah well.

What exactly is... "meh" about it? The writing? the characters? the plot?

Oh and I can understand Vinyl Scratch running a radio studio, but Octavia?

I know that he auditioned to play Blueblood, aswell as a few others

Its not "Meh". You either love it or hate it.

Either you find Vinyl's antics and poor Octavia's attempts to make her stop hilarious, or you find Vinyl is a huge Jerk Sue that almost wrecks the likeability of the character.

I can't say much, as I didn't even read all the way through the first chapter, but it's basically what Coco Natts said; Scratch is kind of a bitch, when she's not sexually harassing Octavia, and yet the story tries to make her out with herself to be both thoroughly right about everything and enough of a badass to just spontaneously decide to spend an interview with a goddess yelling at her.

Oh, also the arguments got tiresome. Like, more than the characterization, it was the constant sameness of the Scratch-Octavia arguments that made me give up.

Also, I couldn't figure out why Octavia was hired for Scratch's show when her specialty is classical music and the story actually hangs a lot on that Equestria only has two radio stations (for some reason) and Scratch's is differentiated by being the one that DOESN'T play classical music.

I should note here, and I believe I've already said, that I haven't read enough to really pass judgement on the work as a whole. I'm not trying to say it isn't worth reading.

I am, however, trying to say that the portion of it that I have read was not worth reading, to me.

Possibly, although I think having either one of them be Octavia's sister would make more sense. Lyra because a harp is a more classical instrument, and Scratch because she has a similar "musical notation" cutie mark.

I actually had a fic idea that involved prolonged interaction between Octavia and Vinyl Scratch; I'm kinda tempted to try to write it now if only to counter the damage to the Octavia/Vinyl dynamic that Tapes caused.

I myself like my own crazy fanon theory that Vinyl is in fact Rarity's twin sister. She dyes her hair and wears shades to hide this fact, and they're slightly estranged but not so much that Vinyl won't DJ a fashion show for Rarity. Lauren Faust also said that Sweetie Belle doesn't live with Rarity, she just visits... what if she lives with and takes singing lessons from Vinyl? Eh? EH?

Fine, I am crazy. Either way, the Vinyl Scratch Tapes are in the Fanfic Recs for Friendship Is Magic if anyone is curious about it.
