In response to the guy pretending to be a Cockatrice: Please shut up. You're annoying and not very convincing. In response to the Fluttershy discussion: she's ADORABLE. My second favorite after Twilight, followed by Pinkie Pie, Applejack/Rainbow Dash, and Rarity last out of the main 6. And in response to the discussion of the main cast's age... I'd say somewhere around 16, pretty mature but still kids and still learning (about friendship). It's understandable that they can have adult responsibilities, after you find out your Cutie Mark you'd just focus on mastering the related skill, find out how to use it to make a living, and that's the end of it. Plus you always have an entire community to rely on in case things go wrong, and friends to help you if you get too busy with work to do normal chores... and weekly Pinkie Pie parties reduce the stress of adulthood.

I dunno. Rarity's job kind of stretches the limits of what I think a 16-year-old equivalent would be doing.

Isn't Word Of God that their numerical ages are intentionally vague? Like they wanted them to be old enough to be self sufficient, but socially they have to be childlike to relate more to the target audience.

Rarity doesn't seem to have other things to worry about, usually isn't that busy, and even has time to go to the spa sometimes. She has a little sister, but I doubt she takes care of her all on her own... And she's not the only one who seems to do a lot of work. Twilight is the country's top student of magic and had to study under Celestia directly, a lot of pressure for a kid to deal with- but, she lacked a social life until recently, alleviating some of the pressure. Applejack and Big Mac basically harvest a HUGE orchard of apples by themselves every year (Granny Smith is too old to help much, and Apple Bloom is too young). Pinkie plans parties for the entire town, along with anything else she has to do. Fluttershy lives alone in a large house and takes care of tons of animals, some of which are highly dangerous. The only one who doesn't do much is Dash.

Right. That's why I pegged Rarity and Applejack as some of the older ones, and Twilight as the equivalent of college or grad-student age. Fluttershy's age is dependant on Pinkie Pie's and I'm not that sure where to put her. She sometimes seems to have a job, sometimes not.

So who does everyone think (or want to) will get the most character development in the next season. They have pretty thoroughly fleshed out Rarity, Fluttershy and Twilight (though being the main character she will probably get a lot of screen time anyway) so I'm hoping that we get more on the other half of the mane six.

I could swear Pinkie stands with her legs a bit closer together than the other girls. You know, more bounce-ready.

I'd like to see Applejack get some focus episodes where she isn't acting like an idiot the whole time. It seems like she's only allowed to be competent when she isn't the star of the episode.

Really, I'd just like to see Big Mac do anything that doesn't involve standing around all stoic. Have we even seen him buck apples? I think the closest he's come to doing work is telling AJ that Caramel lost the grass seeds.

I was just watching Sonic Rainboom again, I noticed 2 things:

• 1.) Celestia looks REALLY weird when she waves.
• 2.) There's at least one other old pony in Equestria (one of the workers in the weather factory)Does she have a name?

... My mom actually bought me a My Little Pony playset.

It was on sale for $10 and came with Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Pink Celestia and Spike.

Plus a storybook that retold the first episode, except it had a lot of details wrong. Like for some reason, Sweetie Bell and Scootaloo lived in Canterlot, and Luna is instead called Selena. Also Spike's toy is on all fours, even though I've never seen a single episode where he walks like that.

Theory 1: The origin of Pink Celestia

Rainbowland borders on Equestria and one day Celestia was out visiting when she accidentally fell into a stack of red star sprinkles. Of course, red + white = pink. In her surprise she accidentally sent out a psychic image to a toy designer who, having never seen her before or since, thought she was pink, thus when he made the toy she was in that color (Lauren Faust got a corrected psychic vision later on).
