Wouldn't that get confusing when it comes to legal matters
"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs Schneizel
The Cake family is another example of naming schemes, unless Mr (Carrot) Cake and Mrs (Cup) Cake are fanon names? Their babies are Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake.
This Space For Rent!
No, they're addressed as "Carrot Cake" and "Cup Cake" in Baby Cakes. I'm guessing that the can make a sort of surname by all the character's names having the same word as a last name, maybe.
Tick Tock, goes the clock/ He cradled and he rocked her/ Tick Tock, goes the clock/Till River kills the Doctor.
Yep, seems like each family has its own set of naming conventions. Some of them have surnames, but otherwise it just seems like they have a lot of compound names.
@Ginger: I believe it was CDRW's fic about Star Swirl's descendant that posited that common names were given numeral designations - like 'Golden Harvest the Fourth', I think, is Carrot Top's 'real' name in the fic - or a title, like how 'Star Swirl the Bearded' was actually the second pony of the name, but he distinguished himself enough to earn an epithet.
Can you think inside the chimney?
I like how I make a story and one little mistake makes everyone talking about names.

Yeah, I've had teachers like that as well. When they actually get mad you know you screwed something up.
