I am still in need of major refinement myself.

@latenight: Proportions in some places look a little off, nice pose and gesture although it's tiring for ponies to stand bipedal for too long.

art plug pagetopper.

@latenight, His body is too ginormous for his puny puny head.

@latenight Sorry, but the head looks kind of small... It may just be me, though

The right hind leg looks a little bulgy to me, latenight, but it could just be the perspective and as others have mentioned the head is a tad small. I'm also glad to see you appreciate a fine porkpie too, if your OC is anthing to go by.

Ditto about the head. Looks good to me other than that, though. Then again, I probably shouldn't talk, as my chibi versions give them all heads that are bigger than their bodies.

@Ace, I dunno, you do pretty all right, better than I can do, I sort of suck at the pony thing. It's a very unique style of long limberness. Noodle Ponies

@Mousa: My inking is really really rusty D: At least I've kept my ability to capture formes easily, an essential trick with both combat and noncombat applications :D

Yea I just wanted a new account name since I have truly embraced my Poni-ness or something like that.

However new accounts cant post external links, and can only post every 10 minutes. How annoying!

So I imagine Ill be flip flopping back and forth between the two until the new one gets enough street Cred to be useful.

And as for what to call me, meh. Whatever you like :P

So just the head and maybe the legs? Thanks all for the help grin

@Drenius I do like a porkpie and all hats in general. They're fun.

I'm off for a bit but will be back shortly, I've got to run my housemate up to get her car.

Humanizations are such an easy way to do pony fan art. No need to learn actual pony anatomy!

It's kinda hot to wear hats in Singapore, but I've got a kickass gallet-helmet that's part of my Civil Defense uniform, and a sort-of mesh version of a ZUN hat.

@AHR: Humanisations work best if you capture the character of the pony you want to portray as a human :D

Funny enough its the opposite for me. I can't draw humans very well but animals and landscapes are alot easier.

@Ace If you want a nice hat for the hot weather I recommend a hemp fedora. Since its not fabric it doesn't retain much body heat and it looks cool.

@Ace - Your ponies look pretty good. The only thing a little weird about them is the hind legs.

Pony hind legs are kinda weird and hard to draw, their knee is actually up really high and I think their lower leg is equivalent to our finger bones fused together.

And sorry I cant comment on anyone else's drawingssad. So many sites are blocked at work, they havent blocked ponibooru I think because its a .org

"captures the character" would have worked better if I hadn't chosen one pony to draw, and another pony's persona...

@AHR: Exactly. tongue The whole reason I started doodling chibi versions are because they're the easiest. Once I have them down (if ever) I'll move on to actual ponies.

Gotta refer to my references more I guess :V

I still have this unusually amusing idea of a ponified Addams Family living in a surprisingly damaged mansion in the Everfree, living up to their theme song of being creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky [lol] Fluttershy would be frightened of them until she makes friends with the bats and other macabre-but-harmless creepy critters they keep [lol]

What do you all use for references?

I've found the pony creator and EQ Daily Drawing Guides very helpful.

Makes me want to write a fictional guide to the Flora and Fauna of the Everfree forest.

Weve seen a few things that live and grow there.

Mostly I use some internalized skeleton construction tools, a few reference images I downloaded on my desktop, and a few gigabytes of fanarts.

I will admit to Megamanning my drawing style from numerous artists of varying skill levels, analyzing their styles and replicating the elements I like best while maintaining a core style that is all me.
