I'm technically a "trained" amateur because I took lots of online drawing lessons, including one that used to be hosted by Dean Dodrill aka Noogy.

@AHR: D'aaaaw :3 Shy Twi is kindacute. Your style looks quite raw/unrefined, with a firm grasp of proportions because her shape looks fine. Mostly it's just the details that need finetuning :D Also a tad tall-n-thin.

I can draw stick figures.

This has to be the longest magazine article on us yet. Its pretty pro brony as well. ^_^ It mentions pony porn , but points out that A, this is a thing for more or less everything on the internet, and B, that it is mostly frowned upon. I don't think an English magazine would have that level of internet Savvy.

I have a bunch of Pony reference pictures pinned on my Pinterest that I use for reference.

My problem is more getting my hand to obey me and draw the lines like my brain wants them. Got some serious communication issues when your brain says circle and your hand draws amoeba!

@Drenius: Noogy (real name Dean Dodrill) is the Character Artist behind Jazz Jackrabbit 2, and he's now working on his personal work, Elysium Tale, as well as a game based in the same universe (He's a moderate Furry artist, but he is seriously good with a strong foundation and all). Also he is married happily.

I scraped lots of EXP from him and took up that quick how-to-draw primer he used to have on an older iteration of his website, back when I still had DSL internet and before we switched to Starhub. Ah, school days were best days to grind my drawing because I found some of the lessons so easy or slow-moving I always got impatient and doodled in my textbooks

I like that it tells you that you draw the head, then body should be 2/3 the size of the head, and legs should be same size as the head. It also has lots of good leg position ideas.

Yeah that is a good one. I used the Pinkie Pie standing as my reference. I'm not very good and translating references.

@AHR, The cartoony style is definitely you, but like Ace said, just needs refining. straighter lines, ears look like they're attached to the cheeks, but overall pretty all right, I like your Twilight.

Emi/Turtle: What Ace said. The solution really is to spam more drawings. I'm pretty much living proof of that. I look at my lines from last June and there's a huge difference.

I always wanted to try Metal Wolf Chaos, it was such an absurd premise. Of course being a huge mecha nerd helped it catch my interest as well.

I hate ears. Everyone always complains about how they can never get the eyes to look right. For me, it's the ears.

Yeah, ears can be a pain. I usually leave 'em simple on the detail and draw attention elsewhere

I cannot help but imagine Luna with a gigantic mechanical alicorn mecha, going all "HOW DO YOU LIKE ME NOW?!" with her Royal Canterlot voice

It didn't help that I decided to be all LOLMUSTIMPROVEABILITIES by trying to have it look like Twi's head was bent a bit, making it worse.
