Especially if Dragon teenagers are going to go around smashing the eggs of various species.

Do dragons eat just gems? If they are predatory a large number of dragons would pick clean an area of prey animals pretty quickly Id imagine.

Predatory? Possibly.

However, it seems that gemstones are, far from being a vaguely limited resource, grow in predictable patterns, if "Sapphire season" means anything about anything, so it may be that they subsist entirely on their own hordes...

Spike eats other things so I imagine Gems arent their only food source.

But if Gems grow like other things then I guess thats a sustainable food supply.

Pinkie's family were rock farmers, were they growing Gemstones inside those rocks? ( They implied this in FOE, but thats not really canon... but I can see the connection there)

Yeah, but, would you really take Fluttershy's word as law?

Remember, apparently, Luna can eat ponies as well, and as far as we know, that ain't true.

Dragons clearly look down on ponies as an inferior species, but I don't think they consider them a food source. They're capable of talking with them after all

3. I'd go with Dragon's as being Extreme Omnivore able to eat damn near anything, but gems not only taste the best, but also the minerals they get from eating are what they use to grow there scales and possibly help reinforce there skeletal structure.

Build a fool proof system, and the world will create a better fool.

Hello all! Finally saw the episode. Overall I liked it, but I wish we saw more of dragon society as a whole and not just the first asshole teenagers Spike stumbled across. I was actually more interested in what we saw of the phoenixes than the dragons.

@Emidawg: Jade is one of the very few OC's that I actually like; her design is subtle enough that it doesn't come off as Mary Sue-ish, and the design could easily fit into the show.

True. I guess I was just hoping to see a wider range of dragon personalities than the aggressive jerk we've seen so far, and teenage jerk wasn't as big a leap as I wanted to see.

Yea I like her, she's very cute and looks like she could easily be a real character on the show.

I doubt spike is going to have much interactions with dragons from now on though

I would have loved to see at least one Female dragon amongst the teenagers...
