Hmm, A fairly Meh episode. No problems, but nothing special. Shame we didn't learn anything about spikes past, but we do have a bit more dragon lore now.

Well, that was a really good episode. We didn't learn too much about dragons aside from the fact that lava is nothing to them, though. Heck, I think we learned more about phoenixes than dragons (adult phoenixes are pretty damn powerful, which is awesome).

Episode was decent for me overall. I'm still not a fan of how there was very little interaction between Spike and the ponies, and I'm not quite sure how I feel about the Always Chaotic Evil nature that the dragons are implied to have, but it was nice to see Spike get some focus and see the identity issues addressed a bit.
