I am not sure hence the reason I said "probably".Season 2 will be clearer on this I hope. But I can say without doubt that she isn't in the top 3

I'm not sure that it's ever confirmed in story that she's specifically the best; she's really powerful, but I'm not sure that the show ever comes out and says that there's no one who could compare.

Hmm, probably true, but she's definitely in the upper ring. As I said, minor quibble, it just gets sore very easily

She is not best, because there is Celestria and maybe Luna, whe don't know of any other powerfull magical creatures (like grogar or lavan).

And other ponies from Mane Cast are also best in some thing. RD is BEST flyier for example.

Spike did said she was the most powerful in all pinyville( or was it all equestria?)

But who know? He might have exaggerated.

@Fallen: The thing is, I'm not even sure where you're getting the "probably" from. True, Rarity has the thing about being the most stereotypically beautiful character among the cast, and she has her weekly spa date with Fluttershy, who's at least pretty enough to be picked out for modeling. Beyond that, though, what? Applejack works on a farm, she's bound to get her hooves dirty all the time. Pinkie Pie, if it weren't for the way the characters are drawn on the show, may be implied to be fat from eating so much cake. But there's no proof of exactly how the characters rank in terms of appearance (unless I'm missing something here), and it all really boils down to mostly baseless speculation.

Being the most powerful next to a pair of godesses is a nice third place, I'd say. and we don't really know that RD is the BEST, per se, else she'd be on the wonderbolts already, wouldn't she? She's talented, to be certain, but all we know for sure is that she's pulled off a trick no one else has managed. and that trick pretty much constitutes suicide in the mind of any rational pony, so there's no indication that somepony else couldn't do it.

Whoever cursed Luna must be very powerful . I have no doubt there might be villains on their level.

3rd place after 2 GODS is still a little overpowered

Why do you insist here on making assumptions to justify a position that you don't like?

Nigthmare Moon was villain. And many monster were dangerous to TS (like Dragon or Cocatrice or Hydra). TS even said that she can't vanquish Ursa Major.

Even tough I have evidence, and I have analyzed this. until season 2 it's just an educated guess at best.

Well, somepony has to be the best at a particular thing. When it comes to general magical ability, that pony just happened to be Twilight Sparkle (besides the alicorns).

It's more an issue of keeping the identity of the best vague, and not nailing it down to a specific character, then you can have someone better than the mane cast appear who can then be overcome

Okay, 'best' on the whole seems to be causing a lot of fuss here. How about we simply agree that all of the cast are 'good' at what they do - as their cutie marks warrant - and that we have no way of knowing that they truly are the best until it's outright stated by word of god, since characters can be unreliable?
