I believe Word Of God is that the princesses are very powerful and have that vague sense of "knowing something important, " but they are not omnipotent or omniscient.

Yeah, I tend to just think of them as ponies who are simply especially strong in all respects due to having the advantages of all races. So they're more intelligent than pretty much all the other ponies, but not by such a degree that they're transcendent or anything. I think the real defining point is experience. Celestia is who she is because she's been around for a 1000+ years and drawing from everything she's seen and done along the way. Luna got robbed of a lot of that experience, which is why she basically appears to be a regular pony who's just really powerful.

I just had an idea. I'm going to try and prove a point by making up a DMOS for all the episodes. I'm not going to put it on the DMOS page, but I am going to put it in here, to demonstrate how very YMMV the trope really is.

...exactly what are you trying to prove?

Or you could not waste your time. We already know that DMOS basically runs on YMMV

Dude, we all know how bad the DMOS page is. But again, it's there to contain all that awful stuff, keeping it from spilling out into other YMMV tropes, and it's best of you just stay away from it.

I'm pretty sure everyone in the thread already believes that. You don't have to prove it to us.

I know one person who wants to get rid of both CMOA AND DMOS

DMOS is a hideous fucking pile of useless bitching that needs to go the way of Troper Tales and Fetish Fuel.

They're planning on purging the OTHER subpages. So what will be left once they're done, and how will they look in terms of length compared to the DMOS page?

@Serperior: If you really want to get them taken off site, you should start a thread about it over in one of the Trope Sub Forums. Most of us here agree with you, but we have no power to do anything about it.

That's what I'm trying to figure out. If I knew why I care so much I could find a way to stop caring.

Who is this nebulous "they" you keep referring to? I saw that thread about cleaning up some subpages earlier, and that was all it was, cleaning up. Nobody outside of a few extremists that nobody listens to wants to actually purge anything.

Why shouldn't he care? Some people are invested in the overall organization of this site.
