@Story: that's exactly the reason. But it's still bizarre because I started the fanfic with him being abrasive and annoying. So as far as canon goes, the fanfic actually agrees that he's an asshole. I guess I just got too used to writing him near the end, when he was nice.

That's always a thing - never let the fanon you craft have too much of an influence on the way you view the actual show. That leads to stupid, stupid places.

At least he was a minor enough character that it's unlikely his personality will conflict with my fanon. That's the benefit of only working with background ponies.

Well he already appeared in Sweet And Elite, so there's a good chance he'll at least cameo.

I mean it's a good sign becuase it souds like you made a great job on your fic giving him depth

Anyway, I'm off to bed. Hopefully I'll be able to get more sleep this time.

Heh... well that's... sort of up to the reader to decide whether or not I hit the mark, but it was certainly my intention. By about halfway through, at least. My initial intention was to just lay into him so hard that people would have to feel bad for him. Which definitely worked - even the people who enjoyed his suffering started to get upset once I made it clear just how badly it was breaking him.

Thing about the fic is that Blueblood got hit hard with torment and misery and had to grow out of it.

I wonder if I'd enjoy a Trixie fic that did the same... Granted "Trixie redemption" and "Trixie with a tragic backstory" things are kinda common.

@Pannic: Funny thing... someone actually mentioned that if I had done the same thing with Trixie I would have a mob at my door by chapter 2. The first thing I started to write had been a sort of 'tragic backstory'. I never got far with it, but I had a bit of a twist planned - The backstory was basically the entire story, told from the framing device of Trixie telling Zecora, just so she would finally have it all out on the table. In the end, though, she recognizes what she is and she accepts it. She doesn't expect pity, or sympathy, and she doesn't care that people don't like her. She's proud of what she is, because she became it on her own.

@Fallen: Thanks. I always try to see things as deep as I can, and see how I can change them. It's nice to know it actually worked.

Gaaah, this is hopeless! I try to go to bed a little earlier than usual, and I end up wasting half an hour without being able to fall asleep! How will I ever get my sleep schedule back into something sane?

Try doing an allnighter. By the time it's time to go to sleep the next night, you'll be so very, very tired.
