@Mio I feel a bit of a commitment to something if I start it, and the optimist in me thinks there might be something to redeem it later.

Pagetopper.

@Sky: Especially if that something is only 22 minutes. I can see walking out of a movie if you don't like it, but when you've got like ten minutes left of something I'd probably just finish it.

@The Librarian: The reaction image thing is in my sig.

Anyway, for stuff as short as this, I tend to watch the episode through, even if I don't feel it that much. I haven't had that issue with this series, but it's cropped up with other things.

[up]This, pretty much.

Really, on the whole I feel like this is just a "sit back and enjoy the ride" episode. No great characterization or anything, but I still thought it was fun.

@crow Actually, since I'm probably paying for the movie, I'd want to stay more. [lol]

I watched the whole thing, and I have to agree it seemed a bit blandly done. It's still watchable and hardly a bad episode, it just seemed to be executed without any real highs. I prefered Lesson Zero (which has very similar complaints from fans) because it used similar concepts to more extremes so was more unique, Twilight's neurotics and Strong's acting (even before she becomes out and out insane) is extremely frantic and hammy, along with the deranged animation and emotions, making it very funny, and the ending still manages to be one of the most heartwarming in the series and added a little depth to the cast (especially Spike).

Most of the stuff in this episode seemed kind of unenthusiastically done and nothing seemed very memorable. Some of it like Twilight's paranoia over the future and the 'stand perfectly still' scene may have been funnier if done differently, but as they are, they're just kinda titterworthy.

@Mio: Did the episode have absolutely no redeeming qualities for you? Nothing you found just the least bit entertaining?

Are you not entertained? Is that not why you are here? /random

There was also a sense that I really didn't need to watch the rest of the episode. I knew it was just going to get more ridiculous and Lesson Zero-esque (another episode I didn't like, but watched all the way through), so really why subject myself to it? The spoilers of the things I haven't seen really haven't done anything to make me think that I was wrong.

Are you guys going to hold this against me from now on?

[up]Well the mythological reference was nice. Irrelevant, but nice.

I actually like the fact that Twi cares enough about Spike to place being worried about preventing the apocalypse on a similar plateau to worrying about him getting a stomach ache waii[lol]

@Mio I don't know if I was tired, or my lack of exposure to the internet recently, but I had no idea what was going to happen this episode. It seems really obvious in hindsight, but a lot of things do.

@Ginger: Uh, she did? If that was the case I'd think she'd take a few seconds to stop him from eating all that ice cream. She wouldn't even have to stop what she's doing, just lift it away with her magic.

@Crow I said SIMILAR Plateau, not the same.

When she tried to remain frozen, she basically cheated and broke her vow by trying to warn Spike about getting a stomach ache (she was SWEATING it was making her so nervous)

It wasn't nervousness, but it was effort to keep herself from stopping Spike.
