@CDRW: But gaining confidence isn't quite the same as satisfaction. Yeah, he made her confident, but he also turned her into a bitch, which she quite obviously wasn't satisfied with. Just because something delivered what is promised doesn't mean satisfaction if there's a nasty side effect. If a bald guy buys a hair growth formula that really does make it grow back, he's still not going to be satisfied if it also gives him diarrhea, even if it wasn't intended.

She achieved her confidence through the training, her problem was that until that moment, she was applying it to the wrong situations.

@ JT: But that's just it, during that confrontation she got rid of her bitchiness and kept the confidence, and so should have fulfilled the conditions for satisfaction.

Except it wasn't his advice that got rid of the bitchiness, it was her interaction with Pinkie and Rarity that did that. To use my bald man analogy from the pagetopper, it's like if the guy went to someone else to get the diarrhea side effect cured, and was still expected to pay the guy who gave it to him in the first place.

Iron Will certainly was partially responsible, but Fluttershy had to fix the problems herself. I do admit that a lot of the trouble was just Fluttershy going overboard, but since we don't see IW actually teaching Fluttershy outside of the one thing at the seminar, we don't know exactly how responsible he is for the problems.
