I should have learned how to churn out lots of writing at college, but all I've really learned is how to put things off as long as possible.

My problem is that I don't like Villains having the powers of a protagonist. If that makes any sense. They tend to win more often. (or at least have a lot more smaller victories throughout the series)

...I hated Natural Born Killers for this very reason

Thanks JT. Sometimes I feel like I'm kidding myself being in collage. I'm not the most academic person, and I feel really stupid at times. Honestly, I think sometimes my high marks were flukes.

Yeah, I kinda lucked out with being able to churn out competent writing without the need to do tons of editing.

Math and science, though....eagh. My undergrad chemistry class just about killed me.

You'll be fine as long as you put the effort in, especially if you're switching departments. You already have some experience with writing and whatnot now, so it shouldn't be as bad this time around.

Alternatively they always lose, but they are so ineffectual and pitiful as a result that you actually resent it and want the heroes to lose for once (since they are Hero Antagonist types it's not hard to root against them anyway). Wile E Coyote and several other Looney Tunes villains are pretty much the definitive example.

Basically a Villain Protagonist can commonly end up a Villain Sue or a high order Butt Monkey / Jerkass Woobie.

Well, I'm not doing that bad this semester. But throughout all this, I learned a valuable lesson. NEVER take three writing-intensive classes all in one semester.

Meh, I have really easy standards for everything, namely no set standards, I just take it on a case by case basis, if I like it I like it, if not, then I don't.

Really the only thing that I REALLY care about in stories is that they are internally consistent. Both in-verse physics, characterization, Magic A is Magic A etc...

May as well say that I'm likewise pretty mediocre at school work. Study habits are not too great, and I'm lazy.

I also see this too often around my peers. Dissapointing, but whatever, none of my business.

@Applelight: Yeah, enjoying the subject matter helps a lot. I would have been toast in college if I hadn't liked what I was studying.

Also, while we're complaining about school stuff, I'm really starting to get sick of certain interpretation styles (which I'm not going to name because it would probably start a flame war), mainly because they insist on discarding any factors that aren't related to their pet theories, and introducing horribly anachronistic interpretations into the material. *bangs head on wall*

Also, I love 20th century social and technological history. For example, why British Leyland was a crap shot doomed to fail. But...that's not pony related...
