How about getting into a show because one character drew you in? It happened with ponies. I initially started watching because I loved Twilight Sparkle's snarkiness, but I grew to love all our mane cast.

@bad Oh, my idea was that his ultimate goal was for everything to be self sufficient. Or maybe he just wanted everything to be organized, no deeper meaning.

Anyway, feel free to mess with Order all you want. I'm going to watch TV, since I obviously can't keep him the way I envisioned.

@Drenius I don't like the idea of him being a thoughtform because he's supposed to appear plain, boring, and uniform.

Ahh, that makes sense, I guess. I'm just fond of the idea because it make him/them that more dangerous and I tend to dislike limiting embodiments of concepts with well, bodies.

@Ginger: Are you aware of the book Professor Moriarty: The Hound of the D'Urbervilles, by Kim Newman? It's the book I'm currently reading, and it's pretty much great. It's written in Nostalgic Narration by Colonel Sebastian Moran, Moriarty's assistant, and is basically a collection of short stories starring Moran and Moriarty doing their thing as villains, with no Sherlock in sight. I was initially rather skeptical about it, but the author does a very good job of avoiding Darkness Induced Apathy Syndrome. Most stories involve the duo facing off against people who are as villainous as they are or worse, getting conned, or just involved in amusing shenanigans.

Oh wait, I should probably not be suggesting another book to you when you have Fallout Equestria, Homestuck, AND A Song of Ice and Fire to read.

I initially only liked Rainbow and Twilight, but now I like them all, EVEN Pinkie.

Wasn't Nightmare Moon kind of for order? She wanted to remove the day as a factor and just have permanent night. That's kinda orderly.

I think that's just insanity, since it result in everypony's eventually death.

I always thought of her as a representation of Wrath or Envy.

I thought the Nightmare Moon VS Celestia conflict was always more represented as the Freedom VS Order battle.....

There's magical apples that grow because of rainbows and stuff. Why couldn't there be magical plants that grow in the Moonlight?

Well, Discord is certainly proud. So there's that. But he doesn't exactly represent the others at all. Maybe gluttony in a really loose sense, as he wants everything his way; thus he's a glutton of detail.

Strange, I never really interpreted it as freedom v. order. freedom vs. control, maybe.

It's strangely appriate that I'm using Drums as my avatar with this conversation, I think.
