I still say that Rarity is the best fashion-oriented character in any show.
@Moe: I know exactly what you mean. Overall I'm not a big fan of Applejack or Rarity, but Applebuck Season, and Suited for Success are some of my favorite episodes.
Sure, I like how the core of Rarity's character is "Who says you can't be classy, confident, and sympathetic all at the same time?"
Rarity's surprised me by becoming one of my favorite characters - first among equals, maybe. She has class, after all, and though she's particular about a lot of little things, "Dangerous Business" points out that while she's particular about fretty little details, she never once complains about the big things, and that helps others forget about the big things that are going wrong. Granted, in that case she was complaining about getting rained on while Applejack, Rarity and Dash are going on an epic quest to save Twilight's life.
I'm a college student! I don't have time for this!
Why does she seem so much cuter in A Dog and Pony Show compared to her other appearances? (at least to me)
"Schneizel! So you ARE the
puppet master behind all this!" - Lelouch Lamperouge
Tealove is best pony
I like that Rarity knows when she crosses the line (but she still does on occasion) and still apologizes for it sincerely afterward. :3
^^^Most of the time she's amplifying her natural bitchy impulse to grate on the Diamond Dogs, and it's adorable.
^^Least favorite pony...? Ow, wow... if I had to pick, it would have to be... uh... god, I can't pick one.

My least favourite is Applejack...not because I dislike her at all, but because I find her forgettable. She has a lot of the traits I take for granted in myself - stubbornness, etc. - so she doesn't stand out to me at all.
"Applebuck Season" was the only episode I can remember where she was the sole star and she was so sleep-deprived in that one she might as well have been stoned, so it wasn't a very good way for me to get good grasp of her character. Well, other then her stubbornness but this was an extreme case of biting off more than you could chew.
Because "for the lulz" is a perfectly good reason to do something.
If I had to pick a least favorite of the main herd, I'd go with Rarity, mostly because I probably couldn't care less about all the fashion stuff that's her main focus.
Those episodes weren't centered around her so we only see tidbits which are overshadowed by whatever pony is the actual focus of that episode.

Well it's hard to lie when your the Element of HONESTY
7 friends, a robot, and a spirit, will find a way to protect us...if it kills them.
Yeah, RD's element is probably the one we've seen the least evidence of outside of the pilot. That's something I'd like to see more of next season, is reminders of why these ponies got their elements in the first place.
^That's true. Pinkie and Twilight's are the most in evidence - Laughter and Magic, after all - and Rarity, Applejack and Fluttershy are generous, honest and kind in most of their episode - but aside from "Griffon The Brush-Off", when she decides to stick with her real friends, Dash hasn't had much chance to show off her loyalty.

Thread hopping from the Dr. Who discussion earlier, but I watched "Blink, " and it's one of the best television things I've ever seen.
