So Equestrian dragon's would rather hord gems than look over their hatchlings? That's not to suprising considering how many animals in real life just leave their children to fend for themselves.
I think Spike might be a different dragon than the red and green one. The lack of wings says a lot to me.
Oh yes, I remember that. A very creepy game, though, I think the skeleton in the shack was more frightening.

I figure they can be split between the threads. The fanfiction thread seems more oriented towards people writing their own stories (and it exists because for a while this thread was almost nothing but people talking about their stories)

^Yeah... I can forgive her for feeling threatened by Dash's other friends, and even for being a bit of a jerk to them - it can be hard to accept that your friends have other friends, and can't spend every minute with you - but yeah, scaring an old pony and various other acts of jerkassery she undertook incline me to be less sympathetic to her.
If she shows up again in Season 2, I hope she learns that lesson.

Yea, picking on Granny Smith was pretty mean too. She picked on the old, then stole, then picked on the meek, all in the space of a few minutes.
So I was feeling a bit OCD the other day. If anyone remembers my Winter Wrap Up custom Twilight, I was getting annoyed with the way her bangs had regressed, so I tried one last boil perm. I think I made the long part of her mane very slightly worse, but the bangs look a lot better and I'd probably have to reroot to get her mane closer to being on model (and then the toy itself would still be off model).

If I had to guess, it seems that dragons mature mentally rather quickly, but then spend a long time maturing physically, with traits like their wings, stronger firebreath, and such. It's also possible that purple dragons look completely different from red and green dragons when they're adults, too.
That would be my guess. I think we only saw his head when Twilight transformed him into a big dragon in Cutie Mark Chronicles, but he definitely looked more heavy-set rather than lean like the red and green dragons. He seems like he could be a wingless species, maybe more of a drake.
Bide your time and hold out hope.

I tend to think of Twilight (and her girl posse) as the equivalent of 20-year old women or so (albeit somewhat immature, but check out some live action sitcoms for adults and you will see immature people) and Spike as an about 10-year old boy or so. I take "baby" just to mean "little dragon as opposed to big dragon". And I am also totally struck with seeing Spike as Twilight's "son", albeit one that helps his mom a lot (and is her fax machine, but whatever).
