Anyway, if this synopsis is about Dash keeping her interest a secret WHILE she's still in hospital... how is that going to be hard to do. Just don't read whenever they're around.

Although, at least in the case of Pinkie Pie we can expect unexpected visits.

Hmmmm, if the book is from the hospital, then she won't be able to take it with her when she leaves without someone noticing. And if it's from Twi then she's going to want it back when Dash leaves, and notice if RD wants to hang onto it.

I wonder if Dash will try to hurt herself at some point? So she can stay in the hospital longer. Long enough for her to finish the book

I'd find it strange if it were a book from the hospital as whenever I've been, I've had to bring my own.

Considering that broken wing fics are almost always vehicles for angst, and Hurt Comfort, if Dash doesn't make a big deal about her wings being injured I think it might.

If the show actually covers what happens when Rainbow breaks her wings and it'll be an easy recovery then that limits what people can do with the concept.

I thought most of the more angsty fics were about Dash LOSING her wings rather than temporarily injuring them?

I'm sure she'd have a stronger reaction to never being able to fly again than to merely being grounded for a few days

I was once going to write a broken wing Rainbow Dash fanfic. It was going to be part of an alternate universe where instead of Rainbow pulling off her first Sonic Rainboom she instead breaks her wings and things cascade from there. Everything was going to be different except for that damn Fluttershy who's life would probably be really similar without the Sonic Rainboom.

People tend to take Dash's love of flying a bit to far.

You are right.

I think people are just annoyed and feed up by how fan fic authors love to exploit that for every drop of angst they can.

Most Glass Wing fics are that she can't fly ever again or at least for months.

I think they're referring to fics where she either undergoes a longer convalescence or loses the ability to fly completely. While it's entirely true that she'd be crushed and angst about it for quite a while, I think that she could conceivably get over such a thing, especially if her friends support her the whole way.

The only Balsa Dash fic that comes to mind for me is one where Dash contracts a disease that slowly causes her body to decay. Other than being a bit too descriptive with the vomit and decay, it was pretty good.

Well looking at another character. Say that for months every tree AJ touched withered and her movement was severely impaired. Would she not be entitled to be depressed?
