I like the idea that this has nothing to do with people possibly being offended and and has to do with copyright. Maybe Hasbro went out to trademark "Derpy Hooves" real quick and "censor'd" her name on official places to cover their legal ground in the mean time?

That's what I think. Selling merchandise of a character without holding the copyright is the kind of thing that could potentially cause issues.

I'm stoked for "Read It and Weep", and still kind ambivalent about "A Friend in Deed". I've never cared for those kinds of plots, and given the summary I could easily imagine Pinkie being really annoying. That said, I've been pleasantly surprised before by episodes I thought would be mediocre, but my expectations aren't really that high for it.

I think it's more because if it's true it means we might only get one scene of her inserting herself into the story. A lot of people were hoping we'd get a montage of Dash acting out different types of stories, and if there's only one, we don't get that. Of course, the one book in question could be an anthology, so we might still get that.
