Don't let that stop you. Or write stories that won't likely be contradicted. Or write ones that clearly won't happen, like the whole town being destroyed in a flood and the survivors forced into slavery.

You're basing that off of like ten seconds of screen time that take place right after a traumatic 1000 year imprisonment on the moon.

Not that I actually think they'd take her character that direction, but I think it would be funny if she was completely different from all the fan interpretations.

I kinda hope that she'll appear tired and maybe somewhat cranky if ever she appears during daylight. Like she works all night and sleeps during the day.

Well, I could see the insecure/tragic element; that sort of how she became Nightmare Moon. Most of the entry suggests she's popular; most ponies are likely terrified of her.

I think it would be interesting if she wasn't insecure, or sad. Like people have said. She was locked in the moon as an evil monster for 1000 years. you'd be a little shaken after that, but I always like to think of her as an incredibly hard worker with a lot of confidence (who feels remorseful about her actions as Nightmare Moon whenever it's brought up) She might even play a big little sis to Celestia, especially since Celestia seems to enjoy fucking with people.

bing a hard worker might explain why she's a little annoyed that people don't appreciate her night

It seems to me like she'd be really reclusive, almost the the point of xenophobia. After 1000 years on her own, she'd probably have moved beyond soul crushing loneliness and gotten used to being on her own. Suddenly having new ponies around would be...stressful. To say nothing of the guilt.

For some reason I had a theory that Nightmare moon could look down on the world from her prison in the moon. Was there any line in the episode that contradicted that?

prisons have windows (some of them). It's just that her face was ON the moon. plus it would make for a harsher punishment. She would have to look down and constantly watch as her night goes unappreciated, then vanish during the time she knows her subjects would be out.

There should be a night festival, yeah. I'd suggest having it during the Winter Solstice, but since the pegasi change the seasons around, there probably isn't one...

Why shouldn't there be a solstice? Light and warmth varies with the seasons and comes from the sun, which obviously are handled by Celestia.

If i was a pony i'd probably celebrate Celestia's Night Aspect (remember for a thousand years she had to control both, she is probably relive Luna is back, once she is reaclimated) since i am a Night person, wonder how the ponys would react to a night person anyway?
