Anyway, I took CMC as an indication that Fluttershy is older than every member of the mane cast, not just Pinkie. There's no real indication that everyone else is all the same age, but she's definitely older.

I'd say Annie Oakley for Applejack, Amelia Earhart, Simona de Silvestro or maybe Ashley Force for Rainbow Dash. Marie Curie could work for Twilight Sparkle, no idea bout Fluttershy. Florence Nightingale or Mother Theresa maybe?

Also, didn't Rainbow Dash say she got her cutie mark first in her class? Wouldn't that make her likely to be younger?

I heard a comment saying that Fluttershy was more Moe than any other anime girl in history. I racked my brain to think of one more Moe than her but I just couldn't do it.

I can't think of any off the top of my head, but saying that there's no anime girl out there who beats Fluttershy in Moe is a bit of a stretch. It's also problematic that Moe is such a nebulous term; everyone has their own takes on it.

I'm having a crisis right now. I think I'm actually burned out on this show.

I've been trying to do my part, and religiously watch one episode a day on the Hub to keep up the ratings, but its getting harder. What makes it worse is that it sours me on wanting to do my fanfic too.

What should I do?

Unless you're a Nielson family, you aren't keeping up the ratings.

Watch something else to stimulate your brain in other ways.

it is tough, but maybe you should wait until season 2 (although I would want to finish mine before that too, since i don't want Word Of God ruining everything)

That isn't too surprising. It can be hard to keep up interest when there's no new official content. I haven't actually rewatched the episodes in awhile. Your best bet is for the time being to focus more on the fan made stuff, since that's all new.

Don'r watch this show until you feel to watch it more.

I make marathon for few days and laters watch one or few episodes ocasionally.

You know, you just hit on an issue that always bothers me about fanfiction: knowing that inevitably, whatever fanon you come up with is probably going to be Jossed to hell. And then people are going to read your fanfic and be all like "what's with all the blatant disregard for canon?" and I'll be like "don't kill me, the show was in its first season at the time!"

@Moe Dantes: Yeah, watching something over and over every day is going to cause you to get sick of it pretty quickly, especially if there are only 26 episodes. If you want to keep up with the ponies while waiting for season 2, I'd go over to Ponychan or Equestria Daily and read through the fan comics and fanfic, or look for good art or something. I enjoy the show, but I've only watched it through twice because I don't want to get burned out.

Also, as far as Canon goes, it wouldn't hurt to put a little blurb at the beginning of the fic saying when it's set. Nothing major, just "Note: This takes place right after the end of season 1" or something like that.

Fanon is a weird thing. Some people I know PREFER the fanon to the canon and throw almost everything into Dis Continuity because they like a piece of fanfiction more. I guess you can just write it and hope for the best
