I'm of two minds on the issue. She should have stuck with 'Ditzy', as it's a lot more socially acceptable, but at the same time, fuck everyone who, I'm sure, will be writing 'My Little Pony supports ableism' articles.

Yeah, I'm with you on that Red. I would have liked if they had gone with Ditzy, but going this far overboard is just stupid. Especially considering it wasn't even really the show who characterized her.

Yup. Instead of being proud and humbled that Studio B cared enough about us to put Ditzy in the show at all, let alone give her a speaking role, let alone give her a miniature scene with a main character, it's nothing but nitpicking and baww with these bronies.

It's the way of the world...some people are just opinionated, self-entitled asses.

A pony by the name of 'Ditzy' was mentioned in Winter Wrap Up...becuase she went in the wrong direction, some fans believed that it could the wall eyed blonde Pegasus.

I feel this was inevitable as soon as Studio B and Hasbro embraced the bronies. Although some good came out of it, once most of the fans thought they had entitlement, they went apeshit when something wasn't perfect. At least, that's how I see it. The Moral Guardians may also be at blame with this particular instance, mainly having to do with the "Derpy" name and all.

Sorry if I'm repeating anyone. Just wanted to throw my 2 cents into this.

Ditzy Doo just felt like a better name to me...but Derpy could work as a nickname.
