Well, I, for one, enjoyed the Derpy episode.

I have this mental image of them selling random objects belonging to G1-3 ponies from a hammerspace box in their cart.

I think their name guarantees that they're at least going to be rather slick sleezy. My bet is that they're con-ponies, and they end up cheating or abusing some sort of loophole in the cider-making contest, probably with the titular machine.

He imploded at first like usual, but he actually ended up liking the parts without Pinkie a lot.

About Derpy.

I like to imagine that her real name is Ditzy, and that Derpy is a nickname, or vice-versa.

Because it's much funnier to me if she did the whole "north for the southern birds" thing, making Rainbow Dash something of a long-suffering acquaintance of hers.

I'd watch an entire sitcom about Dashy and derpy!

He does at first, but later in the scene (before he walks up as if he wasn't already there) it goes back to being his usual mark, and in the montage at the end he's shown with his usual mark and his familiar gloomy expression. If it wasn't for that, then Caramel would indeed be a separate pony and Chance-a-Lot◊ would be the one who shows up the rest of the time.

More specifically, Tealove◊ ("loves cozy chats!") is a Canon Foreigner from the second wave of the Blind Bags who has been adopted as a mascot here. She's also been developed as an OC Stand In, and thus is listed on the TVTropes Fanon index.

Yeah, I'd say that Dash just calls her 'Derpy'. Sort of an affectionate nickname among the weather crew, except not so much in Dash's case.

Don't get your hopes too high about frequent Derpy appearances. Thiessen said there will be "a specific Derpy bit" this season. In singular.

I'm curious what it would be like for a human and an Equestrian Pony to be room-mates for a couple years.

The biological issues alone would probably be an interesting point of friction.

Like, imagine living with a vegan... who's literally never eaten meat before. Imagine how weirded out by it they would be? not to mention a pony is constitutionally incapable of digesting meat, so even having it close to their food could cause stomach problems. Actually the whole place would probably need to be kept immaculate, just in case. And of course there's the bathing issue. Ponies obviously do bathe, but there's wonder if they do it to the same degree as people do. If they have sensitive noses a human of roommate age would smell pretty... strong, to them.

And on that note let's not forget the issue of estrus/menstrual cycles, or simply of the difference of hormonal levels. And that horses have clear aplhas while in human terms it's a bit more vague. Still, it doesn't seem to be an issue in show.

Honestly aside from the biological stuff it probably wouldn't be so bad. A human and a pony could easily get along. Heh. I'm imagining a human and a pony playing poker together, or something.
