Anyhow, could any human reasonably room with Pinkie Pie? Any other pony, I'm sure it'd be difficult but reasonable, 'how do you live with Pinkie without losing your mind or becoming a diabetic from the sweets intake?

Dan is a cartoon human, he is at least partly affected by Toon Physics.

As to rooming with Pinkie, you either learn to adapt or have her learn from you. Hopefully.

I only really eat fish or chicken, so I'm not losing out on much meat if I need to room with a pony for a bit. To be fair, I would be wary of rooming with a carnivore too.

These few days are Chinese New Year, so I continue my fanwerks after the celebration. Did you know the Chinese calendar is a Lunar Calendar? I'm sure there are ponies who use Luna's calendar instead.

OK, I'm finally getting to watch the ep, here are my thoughts as I watch it. (note I haven't read the thread since yesterday, so I don't know what has already been pointed out)

DERPY?! She has a voice! This may be the greatest thing ever! She is a lot, well, derpier than I expected though.

Apple Jack is well loved by the town it seems. I wonder if the rest of the cast is this liked in Ponyville?

Mayor Mare seems to like money a lot...

She didn't lose, she simply didn't come first. Jubilee even mentioned that she'd NEVER seen a pony win so many ribbons before. So that's gotta count for something

So, It seems that people dislike the handling of some (not all) of the story, and disliked the voice they gave Derpy, but liked the animation, and liked the fact that continuity seems to be stronger now. Most people seems to like it overall though. (this includes me ^_^)

Also, Apple Jack did do well at that Rodeo, just not first. Spread herself too thin instead of focusing on one event perhaps?

(can someone explain to my why my posts seem to redlink Applejack if I capitalise the J? I'm not doing anything to make that happen on purpose!)

I liked it the more I thought about things.

...except for Pinkie, but I can just tune her out (except for the cherrychunga scene, which gives me very rea headaches)

I was under the impression that she tried to compete in every event so she could win more prize money
