I wonder if there is any crossover in magic from weird genetics. Pound seemed hella strong, after all.

Mio: I'd guess the reason is more meta. It's completely possible they asked other, unnamed ponies they knew off screen, but since the audience is familiar with the main six, they're who were shown.

The order makes a lot of sense. Rarity is likely to just ignore the kids in favour of designing so it makes sense to go to her last.

I still want an episode where the Mane Six switch races (i.e Earth Ponies become unicorns, Unicorns becomes Pegasi and Pegasi become Earth Ponies) and the unicorns struggle to do things without magic.

That's a decent reason to wait until after they check Fluttershy, Twilight, and Applejack, but Rainbow Dash?

That's just a recipe for disaster, and she's as unproven as Pinkie in terms of watching over kids.

I want an episode where Tim Curry voices a giant, aristocratic rhinoceros!

I wonder if we should add a third sister trope to Word Of God and Word of Dante.

Word Of Faust: Someone that is no longer a part of the actual production team gives his or her explanation for various in-universe happenings.

Where was RD on the order? Why on earth is she above Rarity?

RD, a character so neglectful, another character had to be RE-WRITTEN just so she WOULDN'T be her sister is considered more responsible than Rarity? [lol]

Why're we assuming genetics to be random? The way Applejack/the others phrased the question made it seem like they weren't.

I wasn't looking forward to this episode that much, but overall it was pretty good. Somewhere around the middle tier of Season 2 episodes. I really liked the Piggie Pie song or whatever the fandom decides to call it. Also almost none of this will probably be relevant to the current topic because speed but whatever.

I honestly don't see how the babies could be considered HAX babies. Sure, leaving the explanation as "magic" could be seen as kind of lazy, but given the explanation by Rarity and the previous examples in Chronicles, I'd say it makes perfect sense.I'm actually really glad they threw that in at the start. Although I missed what Rainbow said.

Personally, I wasn't creeped out by the baby in Mare Do Well, so I don't see how Pound and Pumpkin were any better or less creepy. Also Pinkie is really bad at reading ponies. With how they were acting, there was absolutely no way those two would fall asleep that easily. Cribs are the best old timey forts.

The best part of the episode for me was Rarity just saying no to them. I would have done the same thing.

@ Enlong: At least Rainbow would keep an eye on them if only to make sure they're paying attention to her. Not a very good mindset but they were desperate.

And kids love rainbows.

Have their been other occasions of that happening? If so I say go for it (though it would probably need a different name).

Well, to be fair, Dash has never had an family members disown her.

Probably.

See, there's the thing about Mr. Cakes explanation: His thing immediately afterwords makes me think Getting Crap Past the Radar... and while it was funny the first time around, now the thought of it just makes me a little bit sad.

BTW, Am I the only one thinking asking Rainbow Dash to babysit was probably even worse than letting the babies to Pinkie ? At least Pinkie knows them and saw the Cakes take care of them (even if she forget it quickly).

Hell, that would have been funnier to see them go see RD, pause and go "Naaah !". Then stop by Derpy's house :p.

EDIT: It took me so long to write this, that you already discussed it and switched subject ? Damn ! xD

Pretty sure RD's backstory episode will bring up the matter of her parentage. Also, why did she drop out of flight school?

Ya know, Badwolf, there's a difference between babies and Sweetie Belle, who is old enough to be a certain level of self-sufficient. I rather think that Rarity's approach would be different with infants. And heck, she already knows what to expect with baby unicorns.

BTW, Am I the only one thinking asking Rainbow Dash to babysit was probably even worse than letting the babies to Pinkie ?

Considering I'm arguing that same point...
