I'd personally like to see an ep based on her relationship with her family. That's an area that hasn't really been explored yet.

Have you noticed that? The family is appearing all over the place, yet we haven't really seen how they act AS a family unit.

Well there was a bit of that in The Cutie Pox.

Sisterhooves Social really did explore AJ and AB's relationship. But yeah would love to see more on how the family as a whole works, specially more Granny and Big Mac.

Which was awesome, but I'd like to see how they act when things get tough

Remember what AJ said? "She'll come round. Sisters always do." Her and AB don't ALWAYS get along that well. Sweetie just caught them on a good day. That was the point.

Yeah, remember Call of the Cutie? They weren't at their most responsive to each other there.

@AHR: They only got along well in that episode to provide a counterpoint to Rarity and Sweetie Belle. Yeah, no siblings are that happy all the time, but they definitely can be like that some of the time, and we just saw them at a point in their relationship where they were getting along.

That and Bridle Gossip; they weren't exactly getting along the best there either.

JT: I am aware. That is what annoyed me. They created something new just to prove a point, even though there had been no previous indication of it.

Yeah, I can definitely testify for the realism of AJ's breakdown. As I'm sure any student could, really.

by the way, I've been thinking about the Flim Flam brothers episode - I cannot be bothered to type the entire title. The title of it is making me think I might be able to guess at the plot here - I bet the Flim Flam brothers are a pair of inventors, and they think they've invented a machine that they think can make better/faster cider than the 'old fashioned' method. Now I ''really' hope they're EP's. Partly because all Earth Pony inventors are awesome by default, and partly so Ginger's head doesn't explode at the thought of potentially superior Unicorn famers, or something.

^I wouldn't say that showing siblings getting along is really 'creating something new'... do you have siblings yourself, AHR? AJ's interactions with Applebloom did feel a little cheesy in "Sisterhooves", yes, but I could totally believe that, especially since they were psyched for the Social. Sibling relationships are very rarely one-note.

Oh god yes. Some days my sister is my favourite member of my family. Others, I hate her to the point where I almost kicked her down a flight of stairs.

Encyclopedia Dramatica, I'm assuming - which is basically Wikipedia as run by 4chan.

@AHR: I'm not sure what the problem is. It's entirely believable that they get along on some days rather than others. Just because there were two episodes where they don't get along hardly means that they never get along. Not to mention that there are other episodes where they get along fine; "The Show Stoppers" is a good example; AJ and AB got along pretty well in that episode, so there's not "no previous indication" of it.

If there had been half a dozen prior interactions all of which showing AJ and AB at each other's throats, I could see why the change is a problem, but I don't think they've been portrayed as anything other than regular siblings, who sometimes get along and sometimes don't.

Not to mention AB had a very good reason to be upset with AJ in bridle gossip. No such reason here.

I have a brother and a sister. What annoys me was how it was used, since previously they hadn't had much good times or working together times like they did. They only got it because of the plot.

It was basically just sorta taken from nowhere.

I don't think it was taken from nowhere. I mean, we'd have to see it eventually, right? So it may as well be now. Ad there haven't been a lot of times where they interacted at all, so we haven't been able to take an average, as it were. But we have been able to see that AJ clearly cares about AB, and AB really looks up to AJ. It's easy to extrapolate that they'd get along really well from that.

but siblings. Flim Flam brothers. New machine. Earth pony inventors. Ginger not spontaneously combusting. Anything here?

I just wish it could have been shown before it became plot necessary.
