@Badwolf: Well, yes, obviously. But I mean, one doesn't even have to justify that. A Complete Monster is Sin City's Yellow Bastard, who tortured and raped dozens of little girls to death. You can't just throw that word around all willy-nilly! I would have expected everyone to have learned this lesson by now, after the Discord Flame Apocalypse (sweet name for a band), but "mister YMMV adder" obviously didn't.

Btw, sorry for kinda interfering with the actual show-related Rarity debate, but I don't dare add anything there.

I thought she was going to use those as additional motive. Rainbow clearly knew what they were and that the victim had them. I'd have brought up the possibility that Ace was blackmailing Rainbow so she killed him to get out of it.

Oh yeah there was even that remix of those lines. Back to the drawing board I guess.

@Ginger: I can so understand where you're coming from . It is bar none the most flamewar-causing trope in existence. However, if you'd allow me, I'd try a defense of the trope itself, because it has to exist. When ALL the trope's criteria (and by now, there are many, and very detailed) are met, you have a really definite case for something tropable. The problem arises when people don't read the criteria carefully enough or fully ignore them. So the problem is less with the trope itself and more the carelessness of people.

Rainbow third person: Maybe "your friendly neighbourhood RD is here"?

Myself in second person: Maybe "Ginger, you know who you're talking to at the moment?"?

Yes but it is very confusing for example say Rarity is talking to Twilight and Twilight is speaking in the second person, she most use all of her pronouns as if speaking as Rarity. When referring to herself she couldn't say I, she'd have to say you. At least I think that's how it would work.

No that's still the first person, you're just referring to Ginger in the Second Person not yourself.

Great, so people have made the trope even MORE vague!!!!!

That's my issue with the trope, it's just too subjective to be used correctly in a consistant manner.

I think he meant that when I say "Dorku, you're losing it" I am talking about myself in the second person.

@Badwolf: Well, three detailed criteria is still better than just saying "the worst antagonist in the series" or crap like that because then you're opening the floodgates for Discord and the like.

Hmm, I think I got it right. Ok, I'm X, talking to Y. If I say, insulted "Y, do you know who you're dealing with?", then I mean myself with the "who" and therefore refer to myself.

I don't think that would work because every instance of "you" is referring to Y not X. And who isn't really a person sensitive pronoun I think.

First Person=I

Second Person=You

Third Person=He/She/They/Name

I would also be happy if you removed (or at least reworded) the CMOA entry for that story as well. The way it's worded sounds like it's there PURELY to spite Trixie

Okay, let me just clarify what I said before; I don't mean that every pony is being a jerk per se, just that so far whenever a pony gets the focus, they're always the one who ends up learning the lesson. Like in "Sisterhooves Social" and "Sweet and Elite" Rarity spends half the episode either fighting with her sister or neglecting her friends. She isn't being a jerk, but neither episode shows her at her best. "Luna Eclipsed" is pretty much the only episode outside of the season opener that focuses on a pony without focusing too much on their bad side.

I mean "Lesson Zero": Twilight goes insane, "Sisterhooves": Rarity disowns her sister, "May the Best Pet Win": RD is a jerk to Tank most of the way through, "MMDW": I shouldn't even need to say it.

Also, Trixie doesn't fit the Complete Monster trope at all, so that needs to go.

Basically, my point was that I'd like to see an episode focusing on a pony that shows them at their best, like "A Dog and Pony Show", "Stare Master", or "Suited for Success".
